I’ve just moved from East Coast, Maryland, to Portland. I’ll be moving into a house in the Parkrose neighborhood with lots of isolated back yard and even a 2-bay garage shop building in back. So I could grow large amounts both indoors and outdoors. But I only plan to grow for myself, although I’d like to grow more than the Oregon-legal 4 plants.
Some questions for those living in Portland or familiar with it:
a) What is the outdoor growing season? If I start Aug. 1, is that too late for growing photos? Could I finish most auto grows before frost (or is fall rain the problem), such if they finish in 90 days, end of October, is that too late? Do I need to use claimed “60 day” auto strains?
b) Just a few dispensaries sell clones/young plants, all photos. Does anyone in the area sell young autoflower plants (save me weeks growing)? Or should I just grow these cloned photos?
c) What is the situation with growing outdoors in terms of enforcement? Presuming the grow is out of pubic sight, is it a problem if neighbors can see that I’m growing more than the 4 legal plants, such as say 6-8 (they’d be smaller autos, not huge photos)? If a neighbor complains to the City or police, what’s likely to happen? Does the City/police simply not get involved in such trivial issues, or do I get fined or criminally prosecuted?
d) Any suggestions for dispensaries? I’m already liking the often super-cheap prices on concentrates.
e) Any suggestions for grow shops, particularly any with good prices on media (coco, perlite, etc.)?
f) What might happen if I were to rent my shop building to someone to do large scale growing there? What would happen to the renter if someone complained and to me, the landlord fully aware of what’s going on?
