What does all of that mean for the plants tho? I understand very little about what spectrums the girls actually want. I just bought LEDs that people that were getting good results were using. I mostly grow in 2x2 and 3x3 tents. Which has left me with a very limited availability of products. I know I have UV, far red and full spectrum working together because I heard plants like that, but other than that I only know what I’ve used. What would a light like what you are talking about do for my girls? I’m gonna need a new light soon so I’m really curious.

Makes them grow faster, stronger, let’s you push higher ppfd without negative responses, larger yields, better coloring, better thrichome and terpene expressions, better density, hits the secondary metobalites and pigments harder. Pretty much improves everything we care about in a finished product. As far as UV goes, I highly doubt you have UV, you probably have purple sold as UV which doesn’t do anything your whites aren’t already doing. For UV to be effective you need to be between 280-365nm. Most grow lights that claim to have UV are closer to 395-404nm which is pretty much the low end of blue range. If your UV diodes are putting off visible light to the human eye they aren’t doing anything productive for the plants. As far as IR goes almost no LEDs have them, IR is just heat, what they advertise as IR is almost always 730nm far red, and it should only be used when trying to manipulate the dark hours so you can run less dark hours in flower, during veg if you need a stubborn plant to stretch more, and the last 3-4 weeks of flower at about 2-2.5% of total output similar to how you’d run real UVA down around 365nm. If you want to actually trigger UVR8 response from the plants you need 280-320nm UVB which is only available in useful amounts in t8 and t12 florescents. Dose them 30 minutes to 2 hours a day mid light on cycle the last 3-4 weeks. UV in LED for is almost always just marketing and does nothing for the plants. If they actually have 365nm UVA then they are useful for finishing when paired with 7000k-10000k supplemental bars.

Thank you, a lot of usable info there. I will have to go over my equipment specs and see what is actually what. Also do you have the spec sheets for what would be the best possible setup and or product recommendations for somebody like me?

Yo @KingRatt - I am looking to buy a light from @AutoGrowerMo myself this summer. Trying to upgrade to a 3x3 and get a kickass light for it.

I know Mo’s pricing is a little on the steep end but compared to the mass market and “high-end” lights I think it’s a superior product dollar for dollar. Plus I’d rather support a guy we chat with on here. And I’m after something nice as well.

If you are wanting the same thing maybe we could order at the same time. Make it easier to build 2 lamps at once.

I think the only thing I’ve seen from HLG for a 3x3 is the 225 diablo x which is $300 and only 225W. The next jump is the 350 diablo which is 330W but $550! Nothing really in the 3x3 size that looks good.

I’ve already chatted with him a little in PM. Maybe all three of us could talk once we are closer to an actual purchase? Let me know what you’re thinking as well.
