I had mentioned I was going to be going out of town for eight days.

The problem I had was that my dehumidifier ran out of water in just about two days.

So that presented the problem-

How do I keep the humidity in the tent proper while I’m away?

I have a neighbor that also grows, but if I could avoid anyone coming into my house when I’m not here, I would like to.

My first idea was to set up a camera facing the Vivosun reservoir, and have a 5 gallon bucket with a pump in it hooked up to a Vivosun smart plug that I could turn on and off from my phone.

The concept would be look at the video, if the reservoir was low, turn on the pump for a minute or two to refill the rest for and then turn it off.

But that just screamed “ water all over the floor while you’re gone”

So I present to you, my solution!

I took a 32 gallon trashcan from Walmart, flipped the lid over, zip tied it to the handles so it wouldn’t slide around, cut a small hole in the lid to run the tubing through. Attached a little bit of extra hose to the Vivosun humidifier head… and voilà!

I present to you with the 32 gallon humidifier!

In the next picture, you can see the Aerosteam H19 (19 L/5 gallon) reservoir next to it for comparison

And then some proof of concept before I moved it into the room just to make sure it worked.

Should be plenty to last the eight days that I’m gone!

But I do not leave until next Thursday morning, so I’m going to run it until then just to see how it works and handle any issues that arrive before the trip!

@GasPlease you were talking about the most aesthetic plant you had ever grown, I also feel that way about this one.

I saw her the other day. Well kinda. Blurple pics don’t do it for me. You can’t really see what’s going on. Those type pics dont get much of my attention.

Today’s pic is much better. She is a beauty.:star_struck: I need to see the buds tho.

Yes sir, all of my plants have been on Athena for the past couple grows.

I was using the blended line, but I’m actually JUST about to start using Pro Line.

Less than half the cost because you are not paying for water lol.

This grow (in the 4x8) I’ll also be adding bud candy in one res and SB1 into the other.

Nice trichs on her. They seem to have taller stalks than Im used to seeing. Trichs damn near jumping off of her.

Yeah man, I bet she would wash beautifully.

She’s destined to get smoked though.

One of these days, I will have enough of a stash to just devote some whole plants to fresh frozen

Not this time though lol

Are they sandy feeling between your fingers? You want them sandy trichs for washing. They dont smear or clog things up like the greasy trichs do. Flow right thru the process to end product.

We are in the same boat as far as wanting a full run for fresh frozen. Ive been working on my plan for the processing and running my first batch. Real close to getting started but want to get a seed run under my belt first. After that I plan to start looking for my first keeper strain and pheno to run clones for my first wash.

I have not touched the buds to know!

I try to avoid touching them as much as I can.

I’ll keep that in mind for the hash washing plants though!

Just touch it! Slide a sugar leave between your thumb and finger. Then rub your fingers together you’ll instantly know what I mean by sandy.

The GWK ended up with the sandy trichs, first plant for me. They were falling off during trim like a bad case of dandruff. lol.

Id cut a thicker stem of a bud causing the bigger section I was working on to shake and in the right angle of the light I could see a bunch of trichs falling off into the trim bin.

Brother Ehh: What's That Brother?

I do touch a sugar leaf every now and again…

I’m gonna have to give it the old rub down tomorrow when I see them again (at work until late tonight)

Are you making temple balls yet?

Nah. Everything gets smoked or pressed atm. Ive been looking at dry sifting as well. I’ll get there soon. Theres a staff member over on thcfarmer that does a weekly journal update and a lot of his content is about hash and he does the temple balls.
