This is a review for a recent order I placed with Sunshine State Seed Company:

#1 thing: Have patience

I emailed first and asked if they still accepted cash orders. It takes a couple days to get a reply by email. They do. Which is a win. I prefer to keep everything related to this hobby as quiet as possible.

It was about 4 weeks total time. I did go the old school cash in an envelope method. I do appreciate them still accepting manual orders. There was a couple email exchanges but they were sparse. That said, I would not hesitate to order again but be prepared to wait.

Old school methods, old school time frames.

We are all spoiled by instant invoices, emails, shipping updates, etc… I don’t know if ordering through the website would be different.

So I would say it is safe to order, you will get your stuff, just be patient. I did email after two weeks asking if there were any issues I needed to address, I got a reply that my order was shipping with a tracking #. They might need a little bump to get your stuff out the door. I asked if there were problems simply due to having handwritten my order and return address. Could be one dude doing it all on his own and I could easily lose a card or post it in my house. Hence, just ask in case they can’t find your information, got it mixed up with other orders, etc… be friendly, it helps.

So:

I snail mailed cash. Emailed only. I did not order direct through the website. I did not text the guy it says to text. If you go the cash/silence route, be ready to wait.

Send your $$ and a note/card/whatever USPS. The post office asks a lot less questions than other places. Get tracking. Then you know it arrived and they know it arrived.

Got my stuff. Got bonus freebies. Recommend.

Also for all you youngins’ - FedEx does not deliver to PO boxes. You must use the post office. I repeat - PO box addresses require using the post office.

I did not get the BOGO offer on the skunk cross, but that may be a website only order bonus. I did not expect the Gainesville either so I’m quite pleased. I never count on “freebies” as long as I get what I paid for. I mean the Gainesville is $110/pack so I feel like I got a very good deal.

We released this BXl several years ago when we still had out ‘88 FL Skunk and ‘81 FL skunk male. Junior our VP and our master breeder pressure popped the last of the old stock ‘81 FL Heirloom Skunks praying for a male and he got one that’s outstanding. This cross is usually released only about every 3-5 years. We’re releasing it for the summer sale release.

This is 74 Gainesville Green clone only crossed to our 74 Gainesville Green clone only x 81 FL Heirloom Skunk. From that cross the pheno that was selected was very heavy Gainesville Green with a tiny bit of the 81 Skunks ammonia sharpness and a little structure. That male was then crossed back to the Gainesville Green clone only. We didn’t stop there. We sent our larger stacked class c license facility a couple hundred to pheno hunt and they gave two thumbs up for keepers. Out of 120 seeds 19 that were keeper grade. Which is more than 1 keeper per pack but every pack had a keeper.

So we decided to release them. The following is about the 74 Gainesville Green clone only.

We’ve had countless growers even to this day show us their grows of our clone and talk about it’s what they remember and still love. It’s been verified to say the least.

This strain is purely UNMISTAKABLE! Once you’ve had it, you never forgvet its one of a kind smell and taste. Its very much so a one of a kind, unmistakable smell. We’ve let her loose a few times over the last couple decades and unanimously ever grower says its a floral, herbal, rotted fermented grapefruit with a brightness to its herbal quality.

She has the ability to grow to immense size in both diameter and height. You can keep her relatively short and bushy by training her in veg. She will bush out almost as much as shell gain height. Her nug formation is a product of her heritage in which she’ll absorb any amount of light you give her and shell really start to stack her calyx’s in flower making her yield rather impressive.

Shell veg in such a way that she shoots as many lateral branches as she does vertical. You can keep her height in check so to speak by topping her, although she will still shoot out substantial lateral growth to become bushy. She will yield 1.7-2.5lbs/KW in a dialed in garden, with some training.

This plant even being as old as she is, still retains some of that sativa vigor. She will gladly get as tall and as bushy as you let her. Harvesting at the 70 day mark, youll be greatly rewarded with some of the most top shelf sativa flowers with a smell and flavor that no one forgets. That’s her most defining characteristic, along with the effect.

The effect of these flowers is a heart pounding, racing thought, sweat inducing, intense medicated feeling. The major factor with this strain is her smell. She absolutely need new or as close to new carbon filters as possible. If you so much as brush up against a flowering branch an intoxicating and overwhelming scent of rotten grapefruit, acidic, sharp floral and herbal. Akin to rotting citrus and flowers. Several large scale growers on the west coast now swear by this strain because she can handle heavy nutes, you can control vertical growth and turn it lateral, thus creating quite a substantial yield for a sativa. This strain is not for the faint of heart smokers. This is truly a veteran tokers strain.

That sounds fire!!! Sounds really unique. So many awesome genetics to grow! Thats awesome! I don’t care how long my back log gets, collecting rad genetics is so fun! Sounds like that strain would be a perfect candidate for a fat scrog!
