Been thinking about this for a long time and feeling inspired.
What’s the plan, man? ![]()
Been looking at various genetics, plant structure, effects and ease of growing to see if that can be incorporated with some other genetics to produce a flavorful, higher yielding strain and has a good old daytime high. Leave some dna on the planet with my genetic imprint or influence other than my two daughters. Just see what i might find. Reproduce some genetics that people might have overlooked as keeping around. Do some pheno hunting, because my last run had one pheno that was very loud and stood apart from the other two and it would have been good to seed that auto and see if it came out again in the same way or better. Look for ways to spend my time when I retire from my career and do something I might find fun when I’m not fishing or traveling. I always felt that autoflowers had a big future ahead of them and that’s how I initially found AFN.
Auto Zamadelica should be one on that try-list Mason, and any of Laughing Hyena’s landrace Thai crosses.
The Zam can show a fairly wide pheno spread for speed and aromas particularly, but not very fast overall… LH’s girls are fast!
It’s a shame that La Buena Hierba is done now, his auto haze work is unrivaled IMO!
There are some others from private breeders I can look into if you like…
…really, your options are overwhelming! You need to pick a lane so to speak and start exploring… best of all you can excellent counsel right here with guys like Sawney, Jean, DP Antonio, Aunty,…
Yes def the community is deep here and that’s why I’m here. I didn’t realize how deep until we got on this new app and off that 90’s platform. So may people doing interesting things.
not sure what you mean about la buena herbs being done?
I’ve seen a bunch of genetics I like firsthand for various reasons and feel there just are missed opportunities.
Yeah, it’s so consolidated here now, for better or worse, but finding stuff is easier as it is…
Oh, LBH seems to have “retired”, his site is gone now sadly… Way back in the day when I first came here, two breeders were killing it with ahead-of-their-time auto’s: HighRise and LBH. Not much variety, but the results were tops!
LBH is a dutch chap, been in the scene a long time, great connections too… he made haze autos that to date are a benchmark, they are that good. He’s clearly a Haze head too ![]()
I envy you endeavor mate, I just don’t have thespace/time to try my hand at breeding right now, but I really want too! A lot of fine stuff goes extinct, what a waste… Several of Stone’s works are worthy too, but he’s done and if peep’s want more of his stuff, they’ll have to make it themselves or find a pal to do it. I’ve been bugging BCBudlady for ages to do some works, but her do-list is long… LOL
I’m not sure who it is but there’s some dude in NorCal that specializes in keeping old skool haze alive.
It’s a bummer when the genes aren’t passed on, it’s like dropping the Olympic Torch.
