I was blessed with a free bluelab combo meter. I did have to buy a new probe for it. It just arrived and I just calibrated it. As I received it with the 7.0 , 4.0, and the conductivity solutions the 7.0 & 4.0 worked fine.
The nutrients probe is reading high at 3.1 I did not receive the shammy cleaner for the nute probe so I used a paper towel very gently. The calibration solution could have gone bad, but figured I’d ask you good folks what you thought. I have a cheap EC/PPM pen so I’m not super concerned. I wouldn’t mind having it working properly though
Any tips or tricks ( all around with this meter )you could offer would be appreciated
And yes I know I’m supposed to clean it every 30 days, but anything else I would love to know

Hello @ArnisNweed I have been running those for years. The EC probe can be cleaned with Barkeeps friend. Just put a little on a wet finger and polish the contacts lightly.
Your PH probe probably needs replacing. Blu Lab replacements are expensive and I have received new ones past their expiration dates before I ever got them? These other brands work well. The cable on the Apera is short and the other one I have just bought recently, so I don’t know how long they will last. The Apera has lasted longer than the Blu labs over a year now.

@Man-O-Green that’s some solid info, the new Ph probe I received seams to be working. I had know idea that they had an expiration date. Guess I will look for that
I am curious if I can just leave the probe in my reservoir with the suction cups? Is that just being to lazy

No, My probes live in the reservoir. I take them out once a week and clean them when I change the res. I calibrate them every 2 weeks. It is really important that your calibration solutions are fresh and not contaminated. I use the Apera Kit.
