How big of pump are you using? I’ve never had back flow issue typically the other way or not enough pressure to push emitters bigger pump needed

If the water is shooting there is too much pressure or too low gph emitter most guys doing drip run .5 gph emitters anything higher don’t have much back pressure

I don’t think the pump is adjustable. I will try to put it above the emitters to see if it’s able to open them, but I lowered it becouse of the siphon effect. However , that created another problem with water and air being sucked back after it’s turned off,and air/water splashing after being turned on without constant and calm flow which is why I ordered a check valve, tried couple things spend some money and before i buy anything else i would like to get some tips

@eck077 FWIW I always used at least a 100w 800gph pump or bigger

pump is 800liters / hour

The more the emitters you have the bigger the pump needed

so thats gonna be pump issue

How many emitters and what size?

Probably that would be my first step

6 emitters 0.3-0.5gph none of them opens

what about 800 gph pump running at that slow rate, will res temperature stay cool or pump itself?

Yeah that should be fine pump shouldn’t run any hotter. Only time my Rez heated up from pumps was using them as stir pumps running continuously they heat the Rez. But only running few minutes at a time they stay plenty cool

Yeah I’d say pump is on the small side depending how much stuff is inline and how long the run is. A filter that’s too big or line size will make a difference bigger diameter tubing mean more volume less pressure there is a happy medium 1/2” tubing seemed best to me. When I switched to a flora flex filter that was bigger I needed a bigger pump everything in line adds up. That is for supply line to manifold

Cool, I stand corrected :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

@Dab has more experience than me. He’ll surely get you lined out. I just wanted to throw my 2 cents out there. It’s very hard overwater rockwool and drippers to control flow aren’t necessary. An open 1/4” tube with your pump on a timer works well for rockwool. I haven’t ever ran 6 lines on one pump tho.

I hope I didn’t sound like a dick I just learned the hard way feeding 14 gallons in one day wasn’t good for the plants

I don’t have any experience running no drippers and don’t see that working well with more than one plant. There’s no way to regulate the amount of water being put in. But I know you guys following the 420 method make it work so I digress

Not at all my friend…. I’ve got limited experience with such matters anyway, and the experience I do have is a decade or more old…:smokeout:

Yeah I was referring to the drippers part. Should’ve been more clear

@eck077

The thing about rockwool is you can’t overwater it as long as it has drainage. You just set your timer to run long enough for an adequate feed. If the multiple lines creates less flow in certain lines then increase the run time based on the lowest flow.

It’s an extreme example but my gorilla cookies has the res pump running 24/7. If the timer was on intervals the roots would air prune and not be in the res.

Seeing the roots extend from the rockwool…Would it benefit from an 8" cube or 2 under it, or a slab instead of just being loose like that?
