Teetee's Sawney Bean & Dutch Passion treats

Here we are then, on the new site…. welcome to my grow diary.

I’ve been a member of The Autoflower Network for well over 11 years, and this is my 33rd grow.

I have been lucky enough to have been gifted seeds from @SAWNEY-BEAN and @Antonio from Dutch Passion, and this time I’m gonna grow:

  • 1x Dutch Passion ‘Auto Red Tropicana Cookies

Red Tropicana Cookies is a feminised photoperiod cross of two vigorous and potent sisters from a Sour Tropicana Cookies selection. @Antonio has crossed this with Auto Night Queen (one of my absolute favourite strains) to give a hard hitting Auto with characteristics of Sour Diesel, Tropicana and Cookie genetics. To cap it all, she has red veins in her leaves and purple buds. I think this is gonna be special gear!

  • 1x Sawney ‘Kalakta

Kalakta is also known as King Predator, and is a cross of Sticky Fingers and Predator (one of Sawney’s top strains which is in itself a cross of AK47 and Purple Mook Rox). This should be a big girl when she’s done.

  • 1x Sawney ‘SOS Blue

SOS Blue is also called Blue Moon - a cross of SOS (Strawberry Cheesecake) and Blueberry Northern Lights.

  • 1x Sawney ‘White G3

White G3 is a super frosty cross of 2 legendary strains - Walter White and Chemdogging.

I grow in a 1.4m x 1.4m x 2.0m tent with Skyline LEDs from LED Hydroponics using Coco coir in 25L airpots and House and Garden nutrients.

The climate is tropical :upside_down_face: , hot and humid most of the year, and we are at the height of Summer right now with temps up in the mid 30°C’s and humidity up in the 70-90% range which makes growing reasonably tricky.

I plant my seeds in Solo cups loaded with Coco and a simple EC0.7 pH5.8 nutrient mix.

I cover the cups with cling film, and leave them in the dark tent for 3-4 days to sprout.

Once sprouted, I remove the clingfilm and put them under a 100W LED for a couple of days, then under a single 400W Skyline LED unit.

Here they are today on day 14…

clockwise from top left: Red Tropicana Cookies, SOS Blue, Kalakta, amd White G3.

Here they are from above…

The White G3 is a touch smaller than the rest, but she did sprout a day later then the others.

Whie they are still full of vigour, I decided to repot them into their final pots.

I filled up 3x 25 litre and 1x 20L (for the White G3) airpots with Coco and got to work.

First I make a hole in the Coco and put the Solo cup in to check everything’s in the right position….

Then I remove the Solo cup…

….cut the bottom off and slit it up the side. Then I put the cup back in the Coco…

… and as I lower it in, I pull out the cup to leave the seedling in its new home…

This way, I don’t expose the roots to any light and there’s minimal handling which reduces stress.

Here they are, all done and fed…

clockwise from top left: RTC, SOS Blue, White G3 and Kalakta.

They each have a 400W Skyline LED above them, so it’s all systems GO!

I’ve just had a look at my AC Infinity Cloudcom, it’s 11.30pm and and it’s 35.4°C…. phew thats hot! It will cool down over the next couple of months with any luck!

Thanks for checking in, and I hope you’ll come over every now and then to see how this all goes :ahooka:

This is going to be such an awesome grow. Both @Antonio and @SAWNEY-BEAN have an innate sense for breeding. Every bean I’ve popped from both of those OGs has been solid, no issues and straight :fire: fire. These are going to work magic in your hands I already know. Godspeed Gromie!

Lovely to see you back here as well @Teetee :oncoming_fist:

35+ degrees is indeed hot, hope the strains will cope with those temps.
When is it going to slow down again in your area?

Cheers for popping one of our strains as well :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

All the best from me :victory_hand:

Thanks @KingRatt @Waira and @DDubs for your comments… you know how to put the pressure on!

It was becoming unbearably hot in the tent… I recorded a maximum of 39.9°C and a low of 34°C.

Antonio, the plants were suffering, so I made a snap decision to buy an air cooling unit. With all the advances in growing technology recently, FINALLY there’s a solution!

The AeroLush C08 Intelligent Air Conditioner by Vivosun.

Here it is all installed…

Here’s a link to how I set it all up…

https://forum.autoflower.org/t/vivosun-aerolush-air-cooling-unit-for-grow-tents/398?u=teetee

It works pretty well. Here’s a graph showing the high temps in red dropping almost immediately after I installed it on Wednesday…

The plants loved it and started to flourish. Here they are on day 28…

Clockwise from top left… Red Tropicana Cookies, SOS Blue, White G3 and Kalakta.

I’ve done a bit of leaf tucking this morning which is why they look a bit chaotic…. loads of stems pushing through!

The SOS Blue is the largest on the back right…

Then Red Tropicana Cookies…

She wasn’t happy at all in that heat, but picked up pretty quickly.

Kalakta also suffered a bit with the high temps, but again has bounced back nicely…

You can see a few yellow tipped leaves near the bottom.

White G3, being one day younger than the rest, was most affected by the heat, stunted from day 1.

She’s smaller than the rest and has these weird serrations in her leaves….

She’s in a slightly smaller pot than the others.

I remember @SAWNEY-BEAN saying that this plant is a small, quick one, so I’ll have to keep my eye on her.

Thanks for looking in, gotta get back to the Sumo! C’mon Kirishima!!!

@SAWNEY-BEAN what do you have in mind to extend the veg time on the White G3?

Try some lst mate bend the tops over and dare I say it the 420autoflower method. Lol

The gen 3 white came out with extremely jagy leaves :leaf_fluttering_in_wind: . It wasn’t the heat that done that mate.

:star_struck: – nice cooling unit T’, what a grow saver :+1:

Wow, the leaves on that White are looking part way to that FreakShow cultivar!
I actually snagged both auto and photo versions of Purple Freak recently, full-on fern leaf action

confused LOL

Wow @Waira that is the most bizarre plant I have ever seen! It looks like a prehistoric throwback! What was the bud like?

That pic is from Khalifa’s site mate, mine are still seeds- LOL

The bud’s descriptions are more or less a typical berry indica hybrid type, nothing new there per se…

That’s a freak alright. A confused cannabis plant :potted_plant:  thinks it’s a fern
