What to do with my 4 week old autoflower

Hi I have a 4 week old Autoflower and I’ve been lst-ing it and I’m at a point where I’m overwhelmed and don’t know what to do, I’m trying to guide the branches and create even spacing but I just can’t seem to do that without a lot of overlapping or shadowing. Anyone know what I’ve done wrong or what I can do to solve this?

Looks great! Don’t be shy about taking off big leaves that are in the way.

@Sully99 Welcome to AFN :welcome:

I have been growing autos for over 10 years now. I have tried a lot of different LST/HST and I decided a long time ago it is just not worth the effort. That is not to say it cannot increase your yield as it can. I am just too lazy. I average 5oz a plant @420autoflower has the most intense method and the best results over 2 pounds. He just keeps opening the middle to let the light reach as much as possible. You seem to be doing that well!
I would say your doing just fine.

Welcome to AFN!

I also think it looks good and you are on the right track. Don’t worry too much, you seem to have spread it out nicely. Let it grow and see where the main branches want to go. Give some gentle guidance and don’t sweat the leaves touching, shading, etc. Unless they are creating wet spots on each other. A light defoliation here and there can help.

I would just relax and let the branches do their thing right now. Once they start sticking up you can guide them away from each other, you’ll be golden!

I usually do a lazy top and then pull 4 mains out, let the middle fill in. Pulled a pretty hands off 8oz on my last one.

Topped and pulled the mains:

Let it fill in:

Boom - 4 fat main colas by the end and plenty in the middle.

So yeah let it ride dude!

The plant looks great friend! :+1: Don’t be afraid to remove any large leaves at this point. I like to work it in 3 steps. First I take any leaves that are growing towards the center of the plant to allow better penetration, Second, I take any leaves that are covering any growth tips or bud sites, Third I remove anything down low that is just in the way, or any leaves that are overlapping. Finished. Pretty soon you will hit rapid growth/early flower, at that point just keep tying things down low and wide. It will be amazing ! I go in and remove leaves every 3-5 days from this point onwards, until growth is established and it time to let it finish on its own. Great start though!

All those giant dark leaves I’d remove.

Welcome Sully99.

I agree with the others. Plenty of room. The branches will get longer, just keep training them untill you want them to grow vertically.
