Lol, I thought about chopping that off so many times, but it never got buried or smothered, so I just left it lol.
There’s always that one bud…
Hi @KingRatt that’s some beautiful bud shots bro nice grow my friend keep up the good work.
Thank you very much @tobe !! Those buds are about the size of my rather large man sized fists! Like soda cans!
That’s nice
Solid work grobro.
Lovely pics mate, nice to see those ambers!
What’s with the individual pics per post… are you after more likes?
Thanks Gromie!!! She’s a greasy lil girl!!! Seriously one of the most potent autos I ever grown. This is a very narcotic indica, highly recommended for sleep and stress relief and or pain relief. I think it would make some deadly rosin!!! And the terps are insane on this one as well. Very complex, artificial blueberries upfront, maybe red grapes and fermented strawberries, followed by notes of fuel and industrial adhesive like diesel and super glue when it’s drying. This flavor is all over the place, but ends up being very tasty! In The dry herb vape the flavor is amazing!!! I’m telling you Roc Bud Inc genetics are on another level!
Lol, no my phone sux and freezes up when it has to process more than a single photo, it’s just out of convenience so my phone doesn’t crash lol. Thanks for the support! And yes, I like me some amber In Those trichs!
I used to wait for a good amount of ambers, but I often ended up with serious mould in the best of the bud. I’m in a tropical climate, so humidity is my problem, and if I wait for ambers, it’s usually too late.
I also used to find that bud deeper in the plant would be more mature and show ambers, while the newer superficial buds may still be cloudy. Because that’s what you see the most, by the time I’d see the superficial bud ambering up, the deeper bud had started to degrade. I stopped using late bloom stimulants like H&G Top Shooter, and solved that problem to a degree.
Now I crop at the slightest hint of trouble, or if I can’t take the stress of holding out! I allow 3-4 weeks after giving PK 13/14, then chop chop no matter what, usually after week 10 or 11 max.
The trichs are always all cloudy, maybe one or two ambers here and there, and the end result is always pretty hard… especially with these Sawney beans and Dutch Passion strains I do.
Now I have better control over my temps and RH, so I’m thinking of pushing it and going for more ambers this time… what’s your thoughts Bro? I need to pick your brain…
I’m still not convinced ambers are the sole sign of readiness, and I wonder if the ambering process may still happen while the cut stems hang in boxes to dry for a couple of weeks, and further on into the curing stage? Maybe cloudy is enough, because the ambering happens anyway after harvest?
So after that lengthy (Auto Strawberry Soad assisted) ramble, what’s your take on all that? You have by far a greater knowledge of all this kind of thing!
I dont know about greater knowledge, but from what I have seen, the trichs will continue to mature for about 24hrs after the plant is cut, but very slowly, almost negligible. When I scope the trichs I start with the superficial buds and work my way down the plant, all plants are different, but I wait until the very least mature part of the plant at least has about 90-95% cloudy and are just starting to show a few ambers. I also like to focus my scope shots on the actual calyxes, I have e noticed that the trichs on the leaves will mature much faster than the actual bud calyxes. So that’s something to pay attention to. I say if your humidity allows it, then push those babies til their fully ripe! There are some tricks to help with that, you can keep your light further away in the early weeks to allow them to to stretch more and not stay so compact, you can also manipulate light spectrum to the same effect. I actually do the opposite and add in a bunch of red spectrums to keep my plants short and fast so I can manage six plants in a 3x3. Stay on top of defoliation to keep air moving, along with lollipopping the bottom 25% to make more air flow around the whole plants. I’m gonna think on it more, and get back to you, gotta head to work now. Best of luck tho Gromie!! And thanks for the support!
