Hi, day 33 and I’ve been busy tinkering with my plants.

I started yesterday with my largest girl, the SOS Blue. I put a few stakes in to hold out and separate the mid to lower stems…

She’s just about to start flowering. Here’s her main cola tip….

Next, I did the same to the Red Tropicana Cookies, and took a few of the lower large fan leaves off as well, to let the light through….

I’ll remove the large fans mid way up when the stems that they supply get a bit longer.

Then I thought about what @SAWNEY-BEAN was saying about doing some LST on the White G3 in an attempt to slow down the veg period.

I usually use a bit of soft wire to pull down a branch and hook the wire into one of the holes in the side of the airpot, like you might see at the front of the pot in the picture above.

I remember seeing @Hope2grow or someone else using some special hooks to do their training, so I 3D printed some for myself, and got to work on the White G3, pulling down all the lower stems, and taking a few of the larger fans off….

I put the red ones in yesterday, and this morning I adjusted a few and added the blue ones….

I haven’t done anything with her top part, not sure what yet, but I might supercrop the main stem once the lower section gets more established.

This is what the top looks like…

@DOA mate, what advice would you give at this point? Do you see what I mean about the funky leaves on her!

Just to finish, I did the same with Kalakta…

She’s much like the Red Tropicana Cookies, in that there’s a lot of bush downstairs, and I’ll probably do a defoliation once the stems all get a bit bigger.

There you go then, just a quick update, see you soon!

Supercrop the white main stem mate that will help too. :+1:

Everything looking tickity boo.

Do you reckon I should do it now or wait a few days… I want to give the lower canopy the best chance before I crowd it out with that huge main stem, but I also want that main cola tip to be well chunky at the end!

See how the ties go for a few days mate :ok_hand:

You can pop “crack” the main stem just below a set of nodes closer to the other branches height.

Yeah the leaves are a little funky, you could splay her out and super crop her, I’m sure she’d like it. You’ll struggle keeping the canopy level though without a net or frame. Once the pistols have shown your on a time schedule, you’ve 3-4 days to supercrop before the stems become a little hard. The other option is to give her a good defoilation and use your printed hooks to open her up with a bit of supper cropping under the main nodes. Wait until she starts flowering, the kolas this lady throws up should be on Mt.Krushmore.

Wow, thanks @DOA and @SAWNEY-BEAN for your advice, nothing like getting it straight from the horse’s mouth.

I went to water them today and decided to give them a bit of defoliation lower down just so I could feed them easier…. ended up doing major surgery on the White G3…..

Yeah, so after a few adjustments of the LST pegs and some leaf trimming, I set about working out which direction I should get the main stem to fall when I supercrop it.

I do the squeeze, roll and bend technique to supercrop, and secured the stem to a stake.

I then attached a small cane to the main stake so that I could train the shoots from the supercropped main stem.

Here it looks from above…

and from the front…

I’m looking forward to seeing how this all goes.

Finally I removed leaves from the other three. The SOS Blue is a bit on the tall side, so I might supercrop her main stem as well.

Here they are, clockwise from top left: Red Tropicana Cookies, SOS Blue, White G3 and Kalakta.

Thanks and see you next time!

That’s what we are talking :mouth:

You can always add a box or crate to lift up the smaller plants to even out the canopy.
Awesomemaximus dude .

She’s going to like that, in a few weeks she’ll be a monster

Proper ladies again mate :ok_hand: and tent is looking very clean, the way it should be if you ask me! :raising_hands:

I agree! I love that structure! Should be mighty impressive! Let’s go!

Hi, it’s been about 2 weeks since my last post, we’re now at day 52, they are all well into flowering, and the tent is filling up!

Thanks to @Waira and @KingRatt for your comments… this grow is going really well. All these pics are from Day 49.

Here’s a shot of my setup…. Skyline 400 LEDs, and @SAWNEY-BEAN you can see I’ve set the light at a lower height (rather than use a box) for the White G3 there on the front right…..

The small light in the centre is a Skyline 100, I switch all the others off except this when I open the tent so I can see what I’m doing without alerting the neighbourhood with a full lightshow.

On the left wall you’ll see the Aerolush ducts, the top one is hot air out and into the Aerolush, and the bottom duct is the cool Aerolush air in.

Here’s a view from a higher angle…

Clockwise from back left: SOS Blue, Kalakta, White G3 and Red Tropicana Cookies.

@Antonio I keep it so clean because I empty the run off trays with an aquavac, so it’s easy to do a bit of housekeeping and vac up any spills or rubbish as you go!

The SOS Blue is the biggest at the moment, and most developed in terms of flowering…

She’s been on PK13/14 since day 48, and is shaping up very nicely…

Not far behind the SOS Blue we have the Red Tropicana Cookies….

She got very tall, so rather than watch the main cola get burned, I supercropped her. Right dead centre in the above shot, you’ll see the main stem bend up to the left, and a bit higher up, you’ll see the main stem running horizontally, having been bent to the right. Like a backwards number ‘7’.

Here’s a close up of the left bend lower down, and the right bend at the top to make the horizontal….

…and here’s the repositioned main stem…

Here you can see the canopy looking a lot more even…

I started her on PK13/14 on day 50.

You might remember I supercropped the White G3 in my last post on day 34……

Well @DOA you’re right, she loved it!!! Here she is now….

The horizontal bamboo stake that I tied the main stem to is arrowed…. everything above that line is 2 weeks growth!

She’s got some girth on her. This is a view from above…

She’s flowering nicely, and will probably start on the PK within a week.

I usually give the PK (in the form of H&G Top Booster) for 5-7 days, then give them a final 3 weeks on normal nutes to finish off.

This is week 7, so harvest time should be around the end of week 10 for the SOS Blue and early week 11 for the RTC, with the White G3 coming in a week later.

Finally the Kalakta, she is a bit slower than the others, but she’s shaping up to be a big girl, and needing a bit of extra time to do so….

Despite regular clearouts, she’s got a lot going on, and I’ll need to stake her out pretty soon to make the most of her. Here’s her main cola, and you can see she’s about a week behind the White G3…..

So there we go… next time there should be some nice buds to show.

The Aerolush is working well, keeping my temps down in the 25°C range, and it’s beginning to get a bit cooler on the weather front… nice sunny days, no rain for months now, and temps in the mid 20’s°C.

Noice!

Oh, just one more thing…

Here’s 2 syringes of mushroom spore live culture….

Apetar (a cross of Albino Penis Envy and Golden Teacher) on the top, and Koh Samui Super Strain (KSSS) below.

Here’s a close up of the magical mushroom live culture….

There’s less in the syringe because I have inocculated a couple of sterile bags of Red Sorghum grain….

Here’s a closer look at the grain. A bit like smaller sized popcorn kernels….

I am new to this, but over the next few weeks the grain should get colonised by white mycelium, which I will then transfer to a grow tub with some Coco and shit, and make some medicine for my chronic Cluster Headaches. It bloody works like nothing else.

Hopefully my old mate @Hobbes will allocate a space for me to properly document the new grow in the Mush Room. See you there!

I had a Gelato with leaves like that. Pretty sure it’s a mild visual mutation. The budus grey kinda weird too. All the callyxes were symmetrical and pointed up in the same direction. Like how wheat grows. But they were still pretty dense buds. It was weird for sure! Super good weed. Can’t wait to see these monsters take to your training! Keep up the great work!

Nice some shrooms to grow!! :mushroom:

The auto ladies are all looking nice mate, smart to supercrop the mainstem to keep a more even canopy, well done!:victory_hand:

Thanks Antonio mate, the Aerolush has made a big difference to my grow… the tent is really filling up now. Here they are on day 61…

Clockwise from top left: SOS Blue, Kalakta, White G3 and Red Tropicana Cookies.

I had to shift them around to get better photos, so lets start with SOS Blue there at the back…

She’s got a nice chunky main cola…

A little closer…

Here’s another few cola tops…

So sticky!

I think she has about 2 more weeks left to go…

Next is Red Tropicana Cookies… a creation of @Antonio, so I’m expecting something special here. She was also a tall girl, and I had to supercrop her main stem to keep an even canopy…

Here she is in the tent…

She has some lovely looking colas…

…with plenty of grease on them…

Again, I think she needs just over 2 weeks, I’d like to see some fatter buds.

White G3 had a lot of LST done to her to get her vegging a bit longer, and it paid off.

She is a monster of a plant…

This is how she fits in the tent…

A view from above shows how much girth is on her…

…and closer up, you can see how sticky she is…

She is absolutely covered in trichs…

She has just finished a week on PK 13/14, so I expect another 3 weeks left to go.

Finally the Kalakta, also having just finished PK…

She really looks like a christmas tree, all covered in sparkles…

She looks really Sativa like, with long thin fan leaves, while the SOSB and RTC have fatter, stubbier fan leaves.

Being Sativa dominant, she’ll take a bit longer, and I’m anticipating another 4 weeks till she’s done.

It will be great having the SOSB and RTC harvested and out of the tent for the Kalakta to use the extra space and really fill out.

That’s it for today, thanks for looking in.

Next time I’ll be close to harvesting… looking forward to some lovely sticky buds!!!

drool2 absolutely smashing mate! All cylinders firing, bullseyes nailed IMO :star_struck:

Lovely buds too on SOSB and RTC, I love the dark orange pistils… Huh, here I thought RTC was a Sweet girl, but she’s a custom cross form Antonio? Even better! Especially since I’m finding Sweet to be in a state of decline these days, lots of not-so-good feedback from long time Sweet growers in recent years…

Only one thing missing TT — nose reports! Talk them stanks up man, don’t be holdin’ out on us! :joy:
