Germination

So here we go…

I am not following directions very well, just saying.

I went straight to the ol’ paper towel in a baggie method to germinate.

I’ll let her hang out in the dark for about 2-3 days and then it should be ready to go.

For this grow I will be doing my favorite setup for sprouts:

• 5 gallon fabric pot
• Sunshine Mix #4
• 2x4 tent
• 100 watt giixer led light, 2 if needed
• 20/4 light cycle
• Clip on fan
• Fox Farms Cultivation Nation Veggie

When she gets big enough, she’ll go to the 4x4 under the 450 watt light, but that’s a few weeks down the road.

I think that’s about it for now.

#Germination

Not even 36 hours and she had a nice long 1 inch tail on her:

I probably should have checked earlier today, the tail is a little longer than I prefer, but I did not expect her to crack and grow a tail this fast…wow!

Anyway, she went into her forever home tonight and I expect her to break ground tomorrow.

To give her a good start, I mixed in some worm castings through the top 3 inches so she’ll have that to feed on too.

Now, time to sit back for a day or two and let the roots expand and break ground. I love this part, it’s so much fun watching it pop its head out the ground, knowing this is going to be a strong plant.

I am going to do some serious LST and maybe some HST to see how wide I can get her to spread out in the 2x4.

Day 1

Yup, already popped her head out this morning.

If this is a sign of things to come, I am in for some fun. Heck, I may leave her in the 2x4 by herself.

Do you think 2 100 watt LEDs would be enough for 1 plant in a 2x4?

Thanks @WildBill I will definitely keep that in mind as I set up.

I have a 450 in my 4x4 that I have dialed down to about 60% right now, so I guessed that 2 100s in a 2x4 would be suffice.

Day 13

Third set of leaves are looking good. I need to feed her tonight, but other than a daily watering, she’s doing great.

Right now I am running a 100 watt light on a 20/4 schedule.

Ferts are Fox Farms Big Bloom.

Are you running the full Fox Farm soil trio? Or just big bloom? Looking great btw!

I normally will run the trio, but I am out of grow big. So I am supplementing with their Veggie stuffs.

Day 16

She got a top dressing this morning and some water to help it get into the soil. She’s really starting to grow now, going on her fourth set of leaves and branching out.

Day 25

She’s coming along nicely and the branches are growing out now that she is bent over. She keeps growing and I keep tying her down. I might do some karate kid type stuff and go all banzai with it.
