Light Everywhere

Hang in there Burritomann

:hugs:

It helps to remember Ruderalis evolved in harsh conditions in the far north. Long periods without light, water, etc are tollerated better than photoperiod strains.

Beating yourself up doesn’t make things better. Ripping the plants out will lead to regret. You can have a grow hobby and not partake…friends and family will be appreciative!

I can’t eat tomatoes but I’ve grown them….

Don’t let it beat you up, if the plants look the same then they are probably fine and will bounce back, I would actually appreciate the journal more because it could teach us what happens in a situation like this. If all grow journals were perfect, we wouldn’t be learning much. My first auto journal here I grew som Mephistoreos and the plants were like six inches tall at harvest. I made a lot of mistakes, but that’s where learning happens. Hope you’re feeling better brother

Yeah thank you guys for the encouragement. I didnt rip them up. Came close to it. Idk whats wrong with me, ive been acting out real bad. plus i have a lot going on. I flooded my house by leaving the RO water on 4 days. Recent break up. Just a lot. Apologies for the misbehavior.

Thank you buddy but don’t forget to forgive yourself too, were all human and when we are hurting it makes regular things very hard, I suffer from severe depression and one thing I am always reminded of is that no matter how many shitty things happen, there are still things that are awesome out there. Sounds like you’ve been thru a lot very recently and to be honest, that would take its toll on anybody. Be strong, and if shit ever sux really bad reach out, that’s what we’re all on this planet for, to help each other. I really hope you have a good day man. Just remember, try to stay productive and keep moving forward. Everything gets better I promise bro

What concentrations and forms of fulvic and salicylic acids, chitosan and iron did you use? How did you prepare it? Adding each individually, I had problems dissolving chitosan and salicylic acid.

Chitosan needs to be dissolved in vinegar so the acetic acid can protinate chitosan thus increasing its solubility in water. I dont remember how much fulvic acid i used.. it was quite a bit. Possibly 100mg in 1/3 liter water. Posssibly slightly more.

chitosan and salicyclic acid i shot for 200ppm. I think the fulvic qcid was significantly more, though I don’t recommend playing around like that, just stick to 200-350ppm

The iron came from ā€œspray n growā€ micronutrient spray that im currently using at 2x concentration. And now that I’m looking into it more, it’s got more than iron in it. Apparently, it’s got a lot more micro nutrients in it :man_shrugging:t2: idk these plant products dont list everything in them. But a website said 17 nutrients. Bottle says iron and zinc :man_shrugging:t2:

It’s worth noting that I wouldn’t be using higher than recommended concentrations if I wasn’t so deep in flower and risking mold. Im spraying it super super light.

So normally itll be something like

200ppm chitosan

200ppm salicyclic qcid

Recommended amount of spray n grow

200-350ppm fulvic acid

Plants seem to like it…

Oh yeah i also scored the plant on the left which might explain why its more frosty. When we got to mid flower i lightly scratched each branch and wiped the scratch with salicyclic acid+chitosan. Idk if it makes a defference but just looking side by side there seems to be a difference.

Girsl are growing up! Still a ways to go. Plenty of clear trichromes and few amber

Considering that insect skeletons and the fruiting body of many fungis are made of chitin, the scratch treated with chitosal likely reinforced the danger signals.

Of course it still could be a phenotype. Of the 3 same strain plants I currently have, the shortest is significantly more frosty at the moment.

Dim my case, the taller plant is frostier. That’s the one I scratched. I will likely scratch the other one today.

I started to change nutrients, but I screwed something up because m getting some burnt tips and yellowing on the smaller plant.

Pretty sure it’s an issue with overdrive. I think I might’ve used too much. Even though the ec was .7. The ec is .550 now. and it should be balanced out.

I turned on my dehumidifier because the humidity is picking up here as winter ends. So the humidity is down to the 40ish to stress the plants a little more.

Overdrive is strong stuff. It’s easy to overdo pk supplements. After bigbud I give about a week without any pk boosters then replace it with overdrive for ~10 days. I don’t push the pk boosters much past this or I get diminished results.

Also: How old are the plants now? Is the yellowing just the normal fading of senescence as the plant switches gears?

I don’t think it’s normal senescence because the one that’s yellowing is a week behind. And it’s seemed to be a lighter feeder.

I pulled a nug and vaped it. I was comparing it to my last grow. This stuff is really frosty. Potent too. Definitely has grape smell to it. Has a distinct GMO smell to it when broken open. Its grape crush and grape crinkle by mephisto

This girl is so frosty. Definitely on par with the best top shelf I’ve ever come across. I’ve been keeping them as cold as possible, so they’re getting real dark and purple. She has to be pushing past 30% THC. I’ve rarely come across anything so frosty. Awesome genetics from Mephisto

You were right, it was senescence. All her leaves are yellowing now and her Bud structure is actually much more developed even though she’s a week behind. Good call.

The # of weeks/days are guidelines for general planning. Phenos environment and so many other aspects are at play.

I think the craft breeders here try to be accurate but the many companies can over/understate and tell customers what they want to hear.

It’s not always possible but I’m happier when I can ignore the calendar and let the plants tell me.

Only way to do it! Some breeders are spot on but environmental variables rule the roost
