We have dragged the grill over from the cabin to the house…so I can get some cooking in…

At first we were looking at it as a temporary problem..but it looks as if it will be more long haul…

Hubby is looking at solar panels…but..costs could be an issue…so hey…exploring solutions.

To take advantage of some nice cool weather, I left my bedroom window open last to enjoy it.
It seems I have a nocturnal Mockingbird hanging around. This one has an insane bird call repertoire!
Every time I woke up this fucker was singing his ass off!
I got one of those last year. They work amazingly well compared to a generic huey. Set it and forget it. Just make sure you use only distilled water or ro/di water. Otherwise you will get those dreaded spots that can resemble pm.
Welcome back . Always good to see a familiar name come back after a absence. I am still waiting for @slater to come back. I loved talking to him about stuff. He was extremely outgoing and we liked similar strains.
I always loved the Memorial Day holiday when I was a kid! A lot of the years I got to participate in putting out flags at veterans grave sites.
Sadly, that has all changed. Most years, it’s the the the Weekend the ghosts come back. Yeah,I cared very deeply for those guys. I’ve tried saying goodbye in so many damn different ways. I even went to their Grave sites. Early on, I wrote their families. That actually worked for a little bit, but I was still in the military. Not much time for fucking feelings.
I’ve grieved all I can grieve! Looks like they would give me a little bit of a break, considering it probably is not gonna be all that long of a time before I’ll be with them!
Some years I cope better than others. The bad years are usually the ones where are young men engaged in active combat… Been far too little time when that hasn’t been true for the last 35 years.
I’d rather be blessed with the way the VAST majority of Americans think of this holiday as just another 3 day weekend.
When I built my house in Taganga, Magdalena, Colombia, I went downtown to the electric company to order an electric meter hooked up to the grid. The lady looked at me like I was crazy. After some back-and-forth, she grudgingly wrote down my address and said something like “we’ll be in touch.” After waiting for some weeks, my neighbor Toño showed me what to do. He put a sharp V-bend in the end of a stiff #12 electric wire. From my roof, using a long stick, he hooked it over the main 120v line running up my street. Still waiting for the meter 48 years later.
