NIGHTQUEEN's Dutch Passion Grow Adventures

Small update on RTC: she is ready for my liking, lights out tomorrow. Pictures of her final look and budshots follow soon. Crowded beauty , no issues with pest or mildew, no rot, nothing. Will i grow her again? Sure, she was fun and besides the defoliation madness with this method of training and the 4x a day handwatering there was literally not much work… so all in all, I’m happy to have tried rockwool and a few different, new to me approaches (@420autoflower ,thx for having shared your method with us).

SMCs looking dope. Promissing!

Nice bro, field of SMC’s looks promising! Don’t be afraid to take away a few leaves here and there, especially at those places where you multiple layers overlapping each others. For the rest let her do her thing and you’ll be golden soon :yellow_heart:

BTW, is our brother @420autoflower finally back here? :raising_hands:

SMCs - Day 19 , 12/12

The ladies are thirsty and need a lot of defoliation. So I did yesterday. They had a little too much going on , so like Antonio said , a few branches , fanleaves and some suckers had to go again. Overall airflow within and under the canopy is so much better now and also the light can reach deeper inside the plants. Today they already bounced back nicely, and these are damn nice promissing looking plants. Pheno4 definetly goes nuts, so fun to watch.

The RTC of my wife should be dry and ready for at least a first smoke test / first bud review around 4.20. Overall, she’s fine and she had some special treatment during her final 48 hours , from stem splitting to near frost temp spikes and her first darkness ever…Sure , won’t correct 90days of failures here and there before, but it added a little tiny bit, even though it’s imaginary, at least I can say, I’ve tried everything

@antonio 420autoflower is here since 13th March, however I’ve not seen him posting yet. Also got no answer on Instagramm, after asking if everything is okay. Probably just life interfering with hobby.

Flowering Day 22 SMC Update:

Pheno #1. She’s having some leaf deformations, the weakest bud production and a weirdo growth pattern , where I don’t want her to grow. Remove today. remove tomorrow again, 1/2 the size but twice… Lot’s of work to do to keep her under control and clean.

Pheno #2 doing fine, she’s most “green”, staying the smallest in height yet, with stretch on few branches. I dislike the crowdyness of the front side towards the door tent. - work to do there. That net under pressure of the plant really deformed heavily , which affects the squares spacing negatively. Need to rethink the way to hold it in place better in the future.

Pheno #4 clearly ahead 2-3 days compared to the 2 and the most promissing looking yet. Lower buds also form nice, and overall , she is doing great. Lovely node spacing. She’s 3 weeks younger than her 2 sisters but outperforms them - again. She’s stretching hard and a few first signs of early frost is already noticable, quite similar behaviour to what I expirienced with Blue Zushi Pheno#1 last year.

Defoliation done today again after few days of recovery. They are on 5l/day water atm , I’m using Nova max Bloom now and they love it.

Day 28 - 4 weeks in flower. SMCs all do awesome, #4 still ahead, opening the tent and it’s smelling beautifully floral. Nice!

#1 has 1 branch outgrowing the other ones, had to arrange the plant in the net. She’s doing better now.

#2 still the smallest (canopy height 5cm lower)

Ladies are thirsty and I ‘m running out off nova bloom soon. As usual , knowing the coming shortage doesn’t mean ordering it in time but days to late.

Last few days I’ve not touched the Ladies - besides a leaf here and there,so nothing extreme that they had a little time for recovery from previous heavier defoliation.

Taken clones of the SMC #4 for backup both show roots. Took ages but worked with just ph corrected tap water.

Wife tested a dried yet not cured fully bud of her RTC Auto - no chance for a in depth review but the sweets and potato-crisps all gone and wife was locked on the coach … so must have been good enough to tick that box.

The rest of the garden doing mixed these days. Had some of my tomatos taken over to the greenhouse - which wasn’t wise, a little too early. So had to restart them again. Still enough time. AND sun is shining - regarding to the counter on that dutch passion promotional newsletter, 2 more days of sunshine :sun_with_face:. I’ve another set of blooming indoor tomatos now, which stayed indoor since february, cucumbers also germinated yesterday , lots of herbs also showed up and I had to transplant tons of peppers outgrowing their starterpots. White strawberries - they grow damn slow…if they keep that speed, I ‘m dead a century before first harvest.

My knowledge was just based on profile and a forum member info, haven’t seen him yet posting in a while…sadly.

Btw GasPlease, here’s the leftover of that “tiny” rtc auto we started in the old 420autoflower thread…

He likes to do those full grow type updates and last we heard from him he had started a new one. Timing puts him giving us a post soon. Like you said life takes over sometimes and he just hasnt had time to check in. Thats my theory. I want to see how those photos turned out for him.

I bought a cheap 2x4 for autos. It has some pin hole light leaks. But for 50$ I can’t complain. I will agree that the cheaper ones can sometimes be a pita to set up.

My cheap tent , it’s luckily outdoor only. Could need more airflow, indoors unusable for our tasks. After that first issues it’s still standing, even though we had several mild storms. It’s okay for the price and IF it lasts 1 or 2 seasons.

My 4x2 spiderfarmer indoor tent,it’s okay but also minor light leaks. However, that’s less than moonlight and a stable plant should be able to take that without problems. I have bought it for stealthy reasons at home mainly, but it’s better than expected. Even with expensive tents there’s possibility of light leakage through not fully closed openings by stupid design, bad quality control or just by user error. I prefer open space over tents but that’s just personal preference, as i hate reaching in unreachable corners and that little inconvinience might end up causing me doing nothing. That 70cm depth of my tent is just barely okay, but I can’t imagine reaching in the corners of a 5x5 tent…

My Mars Hydro 4x4 is a bitch to maintain in the back corners. As it only opens from the front. Stupid design.

Ive got a 5x5 with side access and its still a pain. Couldnt do a 4x4 without side openings. I want separate open rooms at some point. Veg, flower, mom/seedling/clone, and a utility room for storage, mixing, and processing.

Wished to have the luxuary being even able to open up another side - but kallax on one side, a wall on the other 2.
I probably could have a 10x5 and would still run into space and accessability issues -because “there’s still space to save this one other plant also…and this, and this - oh look this one has leaves in green, let’s save it …”. And few days later there’s a jungle…

Day 30 SMCs - #1 smells like hints of nailpolishremover or plastic glue (regarding to my wife, I guess she meant white spirit). #2 most fruity so far and the most different, #4 is a bit of both worlds.

Time to remove some leaves again , it’s getting full in the tent…
