This one was called Lown Ranger..if we Spot her..I will be Excited..she was a little Beauty…totally different Balance ..and ice cream colours..time she made a reappearance…

Third parent in the line White Russian (ALF#3)

This one was Short Stuffs Original White Russian #1..from the original breeder…we Swapped after we Hyb’d to 100 % auto…

Fourth parent Deep Chunk (Black Dragon ALF#4) photoperiod

This one was arranged through Paddi and esbe from ICMag…

..esbe had Tom Hills original Deep Chunk stock control.

Bless him..when I asked..he said yes…..I’ll arrange for you to get some of the original Tom Hill stock…prior to the mass production.

Why choose Autos..?..

The Attraction for me with Autos was the 8 week time scale…I didn’t know if I could keep it up long enough for a photo period to finish.

I’ve never been a rebel or a rule breaker..so choosing cannabis was a Big decision to make.

I Read up a lot before I selected some plants to buy…most medical recommendations were vague..and Most suggestions made were for Satis..which actually can have the Opposite effect on me and increase my pain.

I Know I’m an Oddity....but hey..we are all Different.

I split my order between autos and a couple of photoperiods.

One of the First that I tried was the little chunky pheno on the left of the original photo..

she was about 22 inches high..around 10-12 week finish..if I remember rightly..and she Hit the Right Spot medically for me…sigh..

For the first time in Years she gave me Hope that I might be able to alleviate the pain..

I wasn’t even Thinking Cure…just some breathing space…a Life…not much to ask..

Pain/insomnia/prescription drugs gave me horrific brain fog..JEM gave me joined up Thoughts again…it was a Joy…

Now while I’m growing..there is all this controversy kicked off about Autos..especially the Potency..

So I’m Thinking Wow…if these impotent little things Hit me med spot..the photos I’ve got going are going to Blow me away…

'cept…they Didn’t..

The only one that come Near to the JEM effect was a photo period Afghan.

I never intended to breed any..I would have been Happy to just keep on buying them..

but..

Then came the day of the Terrible Accident.

I had half a tent of Mazar (JEM) girls…and half a tent of an Afghan Auto’s…and a tiny little JEM male..no higher than about 4.5 inches come up under one of me girls skirts..I didn’t see it… ..until it pollenated the whole flipping tent.

It might have been Small…but it sure knew how to fill a pram.

So..I had JEM Pure IBL..and the two Best pain killers of the season..quite by accident in the second cross.

The Frogs.

Everything I am going to tell in this post (only) is a Lie.. because…?..Cannabis Does Not Do This…right…'cept..it does…

On the ALF5 to Kush cross…Frogs.

The F1’s were roughly 50/50 Pinks and Whites…I remember thinking gawd..these buggers are more NL dominant (pink) than the original NL cross…I cannot flipping shake it… ..*** I’ll come back to it..

The next bit is the Lie… don’t believe a word of it…coz Cannabis doesn’t do that…

I’m on the patio one morning with a couple of pots of girls.. about 1 week after sex…the girls ..not me…feeling sick with a chest infection..and bit cack handed..rough handling the girls I felt a little slick on my fingers.. instinctively and absent mindedly..I scraped the residue off my finger tips with my teeth.. touched it with my tongue to Taste the terps..and within seconds I went woah…what is that…I felt my heart skip a beat.. butterflies..

So..the first thing I noticed was a strange feeling in my cheek bones..like someone had a finger in both..weird…

My chest constriction completely cleared..I felt as if I was breathing 30% more air…and I gained 2 inches in height as my spine/shoulders straightened out… Deep JOY… something switched my system on…:vibe:…

I’m still sitting there thinking WFT was that…?..and I got hit with the highest high I’ve ever had..I was pinned to the sofa…and absolutely stratospheric…now I’m a 20 year.. heavy med user..all day every day joint smoker.. getting high is a pleasant occupational hazard I enjoy…but nothing has even come Close…and on a girl that was 1 week past sex.

Now the Frog nickname makes sense huh…I’m not killing and processing…I’m simply licking its back…Live Donor.

Sequence…F1…felt like it was in abundance.. every one I touched…

F2… remember how many plants I can do across a season…and I was actively Hunting…selecting…it was more like not everyone had it but most did..

F3…still most..

F4.. hmmmmmmm…two things..the Colours started rising… signalling the Bud and leaf colour started to rise…the Frog effect suddenly went out of dominance.

So… could it be coincidence..if I let the F4’s roll as they are now..mass pollenation…do I risk the rise of the colours stopping my Frog effect…?..

(Yes…as i have found out now..)

Nope…I think there is a 10-14 day window on the #finger dab effect…then it goes over.

Light/sun exposure I think..as the plant matures…I move further down to the less exposed bud..to extend it…

And…why I say it is a LIE.. 4 Years of homework with some of the Best cannabis Boffins in the world…and extensive googling just say..Cannabis Doesn’t Do This…

The Nearest I can get is hand harvest Charas…but..they are harvested and cured… before smoking..

I’m just tickling the live plant…

I still had viable seed from the F2 and F3 rolls.. before the colours got dominant…so I backcrossed them..which should be a Strengthening cross…but… we’ll see…

This cross..where I am looking for white/pink phenos..with absolutely no leaf colour traits is now 2 generations of white/pink parents Only…so I’m hoping for a higher dominance of them.

I’d added a plain white Kush in..so she was showing white..but simply because she is Kush..she should be carrying colour…in her Ancestry.

So the Pinks flushing strong could be just the NL pink and the Kush finding a Link.

Pink bud is a bit of a meph colour for me… because I’d just done the Giggle Juice line to F8..I had rattled those genetics out in 3 or 4 variations over a few years and didn’t find anything I was looking for.

I’ve had my fill of Pink…move on…Hit it back to the Kush…and Increased the ruddy pink dominance…:crying:…

Worse was to come…:biggrin:..as everyone is watching the Leaves colour up…I’m watching the leaf Under colour…I walked onto the patio.. good light..good breeze..and I looked and went Shit…all the flipping stems and under leaf colour were flashing pink at me as well…they had all gone full Barbie Pink overnight…

I was gutted… :crying:…

3 or 4 days later…All the pink leaf and stem colours had turned Red… watching Black leaf increase…as the red crept up the underside of them gave the can-can effect..every time the

wind blew..

Dominance.

So…being able to see the dominance of any cross you make is your most Valuable breeding tool… without question… :headbang: ..why…?..

If you take a black parent and a white parent…the good mixing of genetics is the cross showing traits of both parents.

If you breed like for like only here..for 4 generations..you will strengthen the trait out to the max..(hybrid)..you have made something completely NEW.

BUT.. Stoners have a Fault…we All want the fastest..fattest ..dopiest..easy care plant we can get..Greed Eyes..

So.. extreme example..

You have a Cup winner..re known for massive bud production… she’s a Queen…:king:..and you match her with a male cross that is slower..less yield…but with a higher THC content…

Without Knowing the dominance ..you’d probably just pull the Mother back out of that cross…:headbang:… because we have the same breeding blue print in our heads.

This is the argument you see doing the rounds..that we just keep breeding the same cup winner cross out every 2 years.. because without knowing the dominance…:crying:.. we probably Do..:d5:..

That is why the first Auto Breeders took my breath away..in a market dominated by bigger the better buds..and seasonal harvesting..

They said smaller..faster..and not seasonally dependent…a Gap in the market…they must have had balls of Steel to Think that would work huh..?..:pass:.. Bless them…

The most important thing I have ever discovered in cannabis is in the Frogs #FingerDabs …the white/pinks ..

when I think of the effort I put in to try to get my mother some sort of acceptable way to use cannabis meds for her nerve pain..and failed…:doh:..

If I could have said..forget all the harvesting.. trimming and curing palaver…just grow it like a tomato…:watering:.. then a week after the bud starts..go rub your fingers over the bud..and rub them over your gums..and you have a two week pain killer there..

I know my mother could have understood that much..:headbang:..

Anyone helping med patients..:eyebrows:..could cut all the growing .. harvesting and processing by growing a plant to sex plus 1 week…2 week pain killer.. delivered to the door.

You know me and the Dragon Meds..no brag..no ego..nowt to sell..?..

The absolutely most beautiful leaf I have ever seen on one of my girls was the Black leaf..shiney metallic..that glowed Barbie Pink when the light hit her..I used to have a photo…it got lost in successive server upgrades..but..it is imprinted in my mind…:biggrin:..I love it…

So…that pink was in at the Black Dragon cross..let’s go back and have a look at what the Deep Chunk is putting out now…10 years after…:pass:

This is the absolute epitome of Deep Chunk when I met her…she brought Fat Heads..and the horseshoe leaf join..clear as day…

Now..light a joint…and think…:pass:…if I’m right… Deep Chunk was put into that cross..mmmph..minimum 18 generations..and more than 10 years ago..she is effectively the Grand Parent…and we’ve pulled her back into Dominance..

There’s another Pink…7CCG.gif…

Pink ..for me is an unusual canna colour…so highly identifiable to one donor NL… Unless you put two in… :biggrin: …

ALF#5 Black Dragon x NL…NL brought the Pinks into play…whites dominated.. with a few pinks scattered in.

When I hit her with the Kush… ALF#6 I couldn’t believe it..I got a higher dominance of pinks…and I remember thinking..I don’t believe it..the bloody Pinks (NL) are more dominant in the outcross than the original cross…hmmmmmmmm…

Unless there was another Pink coming out…the DC pink… hold that thought…

So I Found the #FingerDab effect on the ALF6..in the early stages… when they were majority pink/white…

I didn’t know if the NL or the Kush dominant had brought the trait In…so I made the Frog preserving back cross with Only pink or white parents.

Soooo…if I was wrong in assuming the pink was NL dominant…and it was actually a DC dominant pink rising… that could totally explain how I might be sitting with a bunch of DC dominants in the Frog cross…

Again time will tell…my brain is rattling the whole cross line backwards and forwards…this is what satisfies my brain clicks…I can get lost in it..brings me Joy.. especially when they defy me…..makes me re-think… it’s like a Hunt…with really devious prey…I know if I can suss it out…I can Have it…

The Second Pink…and how she deceived me…:pass:…

The Definitive Pink bud girl added to the line at ALF#5…(NL)…

NL dominant is pink bud and or pistils…a limey green leaf compared to my Pack…and she is an absolute colour Killer…(16 generations of colours surpressed)

Because NL is such a colour killer all my next 16 generations were white.

I identified the Blue leaf.. certain tric traits..and a blue tinge to bud colour.. special pistil clue..fat heads..Lots of original traits that only belong to DC..

(And fleetingly…the baby pink leaf under colour)..then boom…snatched by the colour killer.

So when the pinks dominated on the ALF#6 selection it was reasonable to assume it was the NL pink..

'Cept…it wasn’t…sneaky little bugger was a DC dominant pink…… carrying the black leaf trait.

(NL carries no leaf colour…)

Look at that innocent little pink boy in the second photo..then look at him in the first photo after a bit off weather damage..that is not NL dominant pink…:dragon2:..that is Black Dragon dominant pink…

So…me choosing white or pink parents only on the BX to look for #FingerDabs Frogs…I actually strengthened DC dominants out..

But…she has left me a breadcrumb……I think I see a Clue to help define a DC dominant pink from an early age…and if I’m correct…

I’m looking at another pot of highly coloured DC fat heads now…:pass:..time will tell huh…?..

Talking about letting them do what comes natural…:headbang:..I’m a great believer.. Except when it comes to pollenation.

Naturally I’d say a male has a 10-12 day pollen Window.

If you let them do that you really screw up your seed collection..your available seed will have a 10-12 day difference in maturity…that is no good what so ever..:headbang:..

Pollenation Tips.

Make a pollenation Rule…no more than 24-48 hour exposure to males.

That way All of your seed harvest will be ripe in a 24-48 hour window..:headbang:
