Hi @KingRatt

Who don’t like a good blueberry, check BlueStar seeds co , my friend Josh got a wild collection of different Blueberry strains he is a partner of DjShort the breeder of the first commercial blueberry back in the days.

Very lovely plants Tobe, top one’s air-brushed colors along the margins and underside are so sexy! So is that almost rosette-like spiral leaf formation :+1:

…lower pic, is she a green pheno you think?

“purple indica”, who dat specifically? Unless it’s a breeders choice secret, which is fine by me. A lot of people arm-flap about parentage transparency, and while I’m usually curious, i respect the need for some proprietary info kept in-house only!

I’ve been curious about the cultivar purpurea ticinensis, and figure since it’s from your part of EU, you would know more about it… The name always puzzled me, as it’s a Latin taxonomical one :face_with_raised_eyebrow: …Certainly not a (botanically) valid on…

Hey @Waira

Yeah it’s really a nice cross the purple indica are DeepChunk x pure indica from our brother @ctg , he gifted me the seeds as a good parent for the Thai sativa cross and in the same run I pollinated the BlueZushi as a test cross. It’s definitely a interesting cross and I got enough seeds to grow the in a larger scale again to do a selection. I got in my head to create a few new autoflower strains from my photoperiod crosses I made the last year’s . I definitely start the next run with Gelonoidz x Orange Assault.

Ahhh! CTG is a good’un, no doubt! He has some wonderful true Hawaiian crosses as well, Molokai Frost is very very tempting to me… :face_with_tongue:

You are swimming in potential crosses to make into superfine auto’s -

your head must spin just trying to decide which to pursue! But that GOA is all but in the Win column already -

NLX was one of the common cultivars in the Netherlands to buy from clone (illegaly) via growshops or clone distributors for many many years. A top variety, old school NLX (as far as I know old Northern Light pheno) holds a special place in my heart. This together with Skunk, Orange Bud, Power Plant and White Widow (and Amnesia ofc) were the 5 strains that dominated the clone landscape for many years. Each shop had at least one (but of the times some or even all) of them on the menu.

Talking about 20+ yrs ago, another legendary strain from back in the day in my area was Santa Maria, anyone of you ever heard of it before?

Hi @Antonio

All the strains you listed were available in Germany too , the most of the stuff come from the Netherlands. I really liked the Skunk , NL5 and white widow. The power plant and amnesia are nice but wasn’t my choice. We got a crew in town who only grow PP it was all around in that time.

Santa Maria , I still remember, if I am right it was a sativa leaning strain , I think I have grown them in my younger days but can’t remember exactly.

I hold some NL5 seeds from a repro of RiotSeeds , my friends who has grown them told me it’s the real deal , I will repro them by time and share seeds back with you my friend.

I really like the oldskool strains and I think it’s a good way to bring more resistance back to the modern hybrids.

We made a cross of BlueCandy and haze and it was a nice smoke , the high changed totally from full body stone to a nice balanced body and head high.

I will definitely do some.more test crosses . In my vault I also got some of the old Mighty Mite seeds , maybe it’s something for a nice outdoor project for the Northern growers.

But I can tell you my friend working as a single person takes the time , in the near future I will work some of my crosses out to a real cultivars and do some autoflower breeding too, but there is so much in my head I want to cross or breed with , it’s hard to decide what is worse to work with.

I know the feeling bro, wish I was running a big legal facility myself and let others do all the work I have in mind lol! (together with them ofc hehe) But yeah who knows what the future will bring, at least we are following our hearts and doing what we like the most! And it ain’t always easy @SAWNEY-BEAN right? But the ones that keep on pushing will make something out of it. It’s about not giving up and following that passion no matter what!:green_heart:

The way I remember Santa Maria was a hybrid strain, never had the chance to grow it myself, smoked it for many years though.. I like the old-school as well, currently got myself dangling in a few projects for that, one of them are the Haze-strains and the other one I hope to start in a few months time after the summer holiday is a good old Cheese project. Have another on the short list but need to wait before I can share anything about it haha!

Keep the hunt on bro! :oncoming_fist: :green_heart:

Dam right mate it’s not without it’s peaks and valleys but I wouldn’t change the view for anything

Yes I know, don’t give up and do what you like. That’s the way I do my things. I noticed more and more that the hype stuff isn’t what I really like there are a few strains that are top notch but the high is mostly the same boring couch lock body high. On the other hand the instability of most of the modern strains is a shame we need more real breeding.

To me it’s time to work out the different crosses I made and take a look what is worse to breed and stabilise.

Ohh yeah cheese is a nice one, I made a cross of BigBuddaCheese x 90’sBlues, my adaptation to the Blue Cheese but I am also testing the Exodus cheese right now , if I find the keeper pheno I let you know and some cuts will find their way to you.

 Antonio, how’s it going mate?
NLX is working it way into my head now after seeing a couple beauties grown by a mate elsewhere. He’s very much an old school lover! He got his seeds from Helvetic/United Seed Bank, only ones he seem to carry the uncrossed fem seeds of her.

Looks as nice as anything I can point to out there these days!
…other spins on NLX I saw were crossed with WWidow…

He happens to have a super nice cut of Psychosis, a real stanker according to 1-2 others who have similar cuts.

Power Plant… A long while back I grew DP’s Think Fast, wasn’t she a PP cross? Turned out nicely!

Santa Maria, not encountered that one before, just the Colombian heirloom with that name (a mountain region I think?)…

it’s almost a crime, but I have yet to grow any “NL’s” LOL … I have some old SeedStocker version seeds, another couple sourced originally from the guy who own Real Gorilla Seeds…I think the SS version is a #2x#5 cross?
BCHz sounds like a winner Tobe, something to explore down the road a ways maybe?

The gene pool so many of these pop culture cultivars comes from is so shallow, small wonder they all seem to blend together into the same sort of high/effects spectrum. I agree, some are very damn good (I love Garlicane), but past a point, if you smoke a couple-few of them, ya smoked’m all - … they more often than not fail to distinguish themselves from each other. I dunno, maybe it’s the sheer THC% and super high myrcene content that’s dominating the effects, washing out other nuances… Stability, seems an afterthought by the McBreeders cranking out the seeds…

Hey @Waira

That’s some nice NLX , oh man now I wanted to pop the NL5 but damm it doesn’t fit in my plans , oh man shit I want to grow them. In my area mostly everyone of my my grower friends grows from cut , only one or two around me grow from seed. After thinking about I am definitely old I think the most around me are younger and they want the hype stuff.

But at this point I have to say I really enjoy the terps of the hype stuff, the top strain I got in my mind are , RS11 , Frosted Fruit Cake, BlueCandy, GelonoidZ and Zoap.

But talking about some oldskool stuff that’s the cheese I test at the moment

BigBuddaCheese x 90’sBlues

And the Exodus Cheese

Maybe that’s Santa Marta gold (they called it Amarillo in Spanish). I spent a few years around Santa Marta, Colombia in the 1970’s into the 80’s. The local landrace strain was a very psychedelic sativa grown in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains. When weather cooperated, if grown on the dry SW side of the mountains it turned a golden color.

Hi Tobe, the NLX belongs to Ray over there,…

A proper cut of NL might be the best way to go, if you can trace the source with some certainty… after so long, so many breedings and breeders, etc etc, finding a “true” version (if ever that was established!) would be quite the challenge!
The SeedStocker version carried sweeter terp’s if I recall rightly, Antonio may recall better…

Hype stuff, high end $$$ seeds from the “elite” breeders or that cheeky bastard CopyCat, there are some amazing outcomes to be sure, no denying that! At mate at GMC sends me samples of such cultivars from Copy’, Seed Junky, In House, and of course Mean Gene  ….they can overlap a great deal, but now and again a real gem pops out!

Zoap interested me because of her funky perfume-soapy aromatics, but I’ve not grown her yet. I’ll have to ask my mate over there if he grew her and if she was worth it. He goes through scores and scores of cultivars, and the repro’s and crosses made from them by the other friend he’s been working with over many years now… 100’s and hundreds of crosses! Even now he juggles 20+ varieties each grow, along with fav’s… Insane!

Cheese x Blues, there’s a recipe for stank! Is she throwing off some aromas yet?
