I get it then, yeah go for it! Maybe you can try topping one a little early to slow it down in veg.
How are you cleaning your copper root mats between grows?
looks great!
I am getting one of these. If it works out as well as I hope in my 2x4. I will upgrade my 4x4 with 2 of these. Or maybe connect two trays to one rez. I am sick of hand feeding all day
.
I have broken the seals on multiple 1/2 pound and 1 pound grove bags. I set screw it and went back to jars.
I just hose them off on the drive way. I use a sheet 2 or 3 grows then replace it.
It’s not just the time spent hand feeding, you also no longer have to remove the waste water. Get ready to just stare at your plants for 90 days
I use one res for two trays until flower when they’re really thirsty, then I add the second res. It’s not necessary though, I just happen to have the space for it.
A second res can also be helpful in the event one or two plants may need a different feed strength. But you can make a res out of anything, I have one I made from a Home Depot bucket. You can use the grommet to find the drill bit size and off you go, no need to spend bucks on autopots res
Great start so far! Night Owl strains and a Tray2Grow setup should make for a strong grow. Keep us updated on their progress!
The rez is like 50$ extra. For the smallest one. So making a extra out of a 5 gallon bucket seems like a really good idea. Or maybe even a big ass tote. Not going to be easy to move a tote full of water though
. But yeah man I am tired of hand feeding and cleaning up the run off. I almost bought those vivosun self watering pots that works with fabric pots. But I figured let’s just get the real deal.
I wanna use 1 gallon fabric pots with my Tray2Grow. For me I don’t really see that much of a difference between 1 and 3 gallon pots. I grow in coco and feed as much as possible.
Totes are a pain in the ass, I think a 7 or 10 gallon bucket would be better and cylinders take up less space. I only mix 4g at a time even with the 12g res so the 5 works for me when I need it.
I agree that not much coco is needed, I use 2 to 2.5g in 3 gal pots. I’d think 1g pots could lead to battling top heavy plants unless you plan to keep them small?
I have that 13 gal and it’s perfect.
Good point. I’ve found that a little coco goes a long way too. With quality genetics from The Seed Pharm, even smaller pots can produce strong, healthy plants when managed properly.
Day 27…a little early for it but I’m getting the sense that these girls will start their stretch pretty soon. I’ll be keeping a close eye because I like to do my lollipopping right as it’s starting. Then I do my defol after stretch.

Question @PeaceLoveBuds , what are the capillary mats for? I noticed the tray2grow is the only system that uses them. The Geo pot system doesn’t use them, nor does the easy2grow which is very similar.
Coco doesn’t need a ton of media, I was watching a Autopotamus video and he was getting the same results basically between the 2gal and 6gal or 10gal, can’t remember. But in the autopots, and tray2grows they feed constantly so pot size is irrelevant to a point. Still haven’t seen 1gal run in any of em tho.
The capillary mat is basically a wick that feeds water to the pots
I understand it’s function, but none of the other systems use it, even the Geo pot systems with fabric pots
