That’s a crazy amount of feeder roots!!
Haha! Top grower and excellent politician.
I’ve been sleepin on your thread. Fucking stellar growing man, even with the switch over to soil, still killin. Nice writeup on the DP blog too. Cool shit.
Yeah grim reaper was about the same if not worse barely got the cover back on she’s done for the grow with top dress. PMK is a light feeder barely if any roots showing
Thnaks brother appreciate you stopping by
Woah easy sailor definitely not no politician
Man, you’re really making me want to do a soil run.
I’ve been having fun with hydroponics the past few months, but golly does that look good!

I’ve got some I’m going to run after this round of autos is finished…![]()
I’ve gone back and forth between organic and coco for few years but been growing in coco DTW for awhile now but always ran into something over feeding under feeding bad nute balances deficiencies ph issue all of it had some good runs too. Soil is just easier and a lot simpler. In the long run if I can recycle even some of the soil it will be cheaper.
Crazy root intrusion! ![]()
Yeah, you did let it go a little long before top dressing again. ![]()
If you have some bokashi, you could add it now on top. You could cook some rice and add that to the top and maybe mix it slightly in. Save the rice water you washed them in to moisten that top dressing when you add the rice. The rice is there to help with feeding the microbes and increasing their numbers to help with the decomposition of your top dressing. Remember just enough to moisten the top dressing area.
Well I don’t think any of these girls will need it With what put in these earth boxes, It’s always good to have something quick acting for flower. If you decide to continue with this style of grow, I would highly suggest to look into something that is readily available in case you run into a problem. Homemade FFJ and Blue Gold Flower or two that I know that work very well.
If you’re not going to use 20 gallon pots in a living soil environment where you don’t change the media, It would be really easy to dump all those pots in that tent into a tote to re amend.
Start the process as soon as you have your weed drying. Throw those contents into a tote and chop up those thick root balls. Re amend with Craft Blend based amount of gallons, maybe add some Dumor Chicken laying Crumble for some microbe food with some growth hormone from sprouted seeds in the feed.
Mix it all together and bring up the moisture level with a good compost tea and or slighly fermented rice water. Throw a layer of bokashi on top, place to live on it and let it cook for a few days. Let your Bokashi do its work for a few days and turn the pile once it begins to cool. Turn it every three to five days and once it doesn’t heat up again after turning, it’s ready. In two to three weeks it’s ready.
You could do that for quite a few cycles and maybe only add more pumice to keep it more aerated.
And that tote can be placed anywhere to do the operation.
Garden looking great man!!!
Edit… I would do no more than a cup of rice on a regular earthbox and 1/2 a cup on a junior
You think there’s a point where extra peat is needed, when reusing soils?
Thanks Bill lot of good info there that I had been wondering. Makes me feel better knowing I can get a few cycles doing it that way. Cause that’s the plan totes or cheap compost tumbler reamend it and reuse.
I have been thinking about FFJ for a long time just never got around to making any. I do have the build a bloom that can be used as a liquid or I also have roots organics terp teas I could brew up for emergencies. Lucky as long as I stay on top of feeding I don’t think I’ll have much issue except with the larger girls in Jr’s
I started using the fermented extracts BAS sells. Comfrey for veg, watermelon for bloom. It’s probably not the same as the fresh stuff @WildBill uses, but it’s decent… And the plants seem to love it…
Looking killer bud!
Yeah but I think be over quite a long time. The Way We Grow indoors, It’ll eventually become heavy and not Wick well, nor will it be as much oxygen available.
It’s at that time I would add some.
Or you could very easily rotate it out into your outdoor garden whether that’s cannabis or food. If I still had an outdoor garden that’s what I would probably do, but like I said, that’s quite a few cycles.
You should always be able to tell when more is needing during the re amendment. While it’s in the tote, just feel it in your hands.Ya need to see identifiable material in higher proportions than small particle …decoposing compost and worm poop.
And the compost that you use will also come into play. Some breakdown quicker than others.
I have tried several of theirs and they are quite good.
And best of all… They’re easy! somebody else made them! ![]()
What soils do you guys recommend? I been wanting to take the plunge but not sure where to start. I have heard good things about BAS. Would love to have some recommendations
.
BAS for sure… personally, I use light mix… but others use 3.0 with good results too…
Without a doubt 3.0!!!
I’m using 3.0 mainly cause I’m running photos and want the extra nutrients
I’ve been using Roots Organic Original for 5 years with great results. I add plenty of additional perlite for aeration.
