Lil Mango from Laughing Hyena Seeds

Four Lil Mango seeds started January 20th in 5 gallon pots of Canna Coco. I am feeding with Jack’s 3-2-1 formula twice a day to runoff. The parents are Lil Stick and Mango Stick. I have grown both of these previously and was very impressed with both. Very very fruity with some heavy gas as well. Both were extremely potent.

Well it is about time to get growing again. Had to take a little break to heal up a knee replacement. I have started four Lil Mango seeds in 5 gallon pots of coco. Germination was 100% and today will be day one. Looking forward to this grow as this is a Mango Stick X Lil Stick cross. I have grown both of the parents and they were both very potent and flavorful strains. Should be very fruity and uplifting…Thanks for stopping by and checking us out…:growing:

The girls are 8 days in and doing fine. Putting down roots and getting ready for a growth explosion. Irrigation has been tested but will continue to hand water until I see some run off. Thanks for stopping by… :growing:

Day 22 for the Lil Mango girls today. I fimmed the top left girl between the fifth and sixth nodes and removed the bottom node growth. I will do the other three tomorrow. Top left is leaning towards the Lil Stick. Top right and bottom left are more like Mango Stick. Bottom right is looking more Thai Ryder. Thanks for stopping by… :growing:

It is now Day 28. All of the girls have pre-flowered and showed their lady parts. The pre-flower stretch is taking off. All have been fimmed between the 5th and 6th nodes. Hoping for a nice even canopy, just doing a little leaf tucking to let the new branches reach for the lights.

Thanks for stopping by………

 looking good Buzz’, a nice spread of pheno’s! It’ll be interesting to see where the aromas end up on them…

My two Lil’Stick’s favored each parental side, the WTR leaner a bit denser, more spicy/earthy… WTR seems to throw a wide range of aromas though.

Also keen to see how the buzzes turn out! LilStick Thai leaner was outstanding, such a warm elevating high with a clean come-down…

MangoStick feels heavier to me, more hybrid high…relaxing come down, I suspect a solid slug of myrcene in her.

Today is Day 35 and the girls are coming along nicely. I did a bit of minor defoliation to open up the bud sites. Lots of bud sites forming but still no pom poms yet. Lots of stretching to go yet. I am starting to notice some smells starting but nothing specific yet. Thanks for stopping by….

How you liking the Jacks? You running with tap water? Looks like the plants think its good.

So far I really like the Jack’s nutrients. I use snow melt so very similar to RO. I also use some VeloKelp from Remo nutrients and some Therm X yucca for a wetting agent. The Jack’s dissolves quickly and seems pretty stable but will have to get through several grows before I form a reasonable opinion.

Do you use any of their add-on stuff or just the core line? I see Bloom, Finish, and Ultraviolet. Look like PK boosters.

I bought the 3-2-1 package. Part A, Part B, Epsom Salts, Bloom and Finish. I will be adding some bloom into the mix soon once the pom poms start to show. Part A is 5-12-26 and Part B is 15-0-0 so very easy to vary nitrogen inputs as the plant matures.

Yeah the Jacks ratios seem to split a lot of nute lines right down the middle. They do say you can run it start to finish without anything else.

2-1.2-2.6 just on it’s own.

I was reading on the old XF site that MoG was using soluble gypsum for Ca without N. The part B Cal-Nit is pretty N heavy. I had considered getting the gypsum and halving the part B amounts to keep Ca high and drop the N a bit during flowering. Could be a bad idea but I should just do a run with it and see what happens.

I run coco so Ca/Mg is important. No cal mag here. Just decent inputs.

I’ve been using Jack’s 321 for a couple years, and it works great. I will likely stick with it for good now - cheap and completely effective is hard to beat. I use mine in a combination of low EC creek water and snowmelt. So far, I have had zero nute issues with 321 applied with automated top irrigation and coco perlite mix. I haven’t bothered with any other additives, and the girls have not complained. Also, my yields were great, likely an average of around 200 grams per plant. Works for me, I have enough weed from the 4x4 to share lots even with one grow per year.

It is day 42 for the Lil Mango girls today. Lots of flower sites forming and stretching for the lights. I added some bloom nutes to the feed and they are drinking well. Really starting to stretch. The tall one is in re-used coco and has developed the claw. It doesn’t seem to be slowing it down any so I will just have to keep an eye on it.

cool2 …they’re filling in nicely Buzz, a happy healthy crew!

I think the lanky girl is showing her landrace genes with that build and high N sensitivity, definitely a thing with equatorial Sativa-types.

I’d wager her to make fluffy open buds and zippy trippy effects Thai style! LOL

Her aroma is what I’ll be most curious about…

It is day 50 for the Lil Mango girls today. They are drinking a lot of nutes and are really stretching. The tall stretchy one with the claw is now 38 inches tall and growing strong. I flushed twice to wash out excess nutrients and she is still growing well so I hope she continues. I took her off the reservoir and have been hand watering with half strength nutrients. Main reservoir is at 800 ppm, and hand watering at 400 ppm.

Thanks for looking
