The bucket is next to a dehumidifier and the AC unit, just trying to keep it as cold and dry as possible, aiming for 35% humidity in the room, but the tent next to it is trying to stay at 55% so they are battling each other with any bit of leaking air that comes out
It’s definitely not perfect, but I I bet I get a solid temple ball out of it at the end regardless
Fridge works too I’ve done it that way in pizza boxes in the grow room and in fridge different times. The fridge stuff had better terps Looks good though I’d hit it
Allegedly the fridge has some pretty high humidity swings, I’m really not sure the exact analytics of it because I just have that tiny sensor in there…
I trust it enough for holding the seeds after seeing some other people put seeds in the fridge, but I would not want to try to dry my hash in there.
This morning I went to check on it and it felt extremely dry. Decided although it was faster than anticipated that it was time to try to press it and roll a temple ball.
Filled up a glass bottle with boiling water and started to roll it out
10 minutes while flipping it after every press
started to get darker and tacky, fold it into itself and make a brick to press again
10 more minutes of pressing and it’s still tacky but develops a “light” patch.
odd, but I have not used the warm bottle rolling technique before so I don’t think too much into it
Fold it into itself again and this time it seems much dryer
10 More minutes of rolling and the color has gotten lighter again. When I attempt to fold it into itself and roll into a ball, it becomes crumbly.
So I took it and pressed it through a sieve again and just left it as a fine powder.
Not really sure what to do with it at this point other than just smoke it as it is
Yeah, I guess just thoughts on if that’s what people think happened?
I’ve never had hash get SO dry. It was still tacky when I started the pressing. Pressed once, more tacky, twice, tacky but had a bit of a strange texture… on the third press the hash dried back up.
Yup I’ve had it do that too not sure what caused it either. It came out fine in the end cause I press it anyways so I just chalked it up to the strain or the drying process. As long as it does the job…
Yesterday I had a 4-gram brick of pressed hash wrapped in red cellophane in my back pocket. The heat and pressure of sitting on it while driving caused a blowout, and a gram squeezed out into my pocket. I turned the pocket inside out and scraped the hash off the cotton fabric. I tried pressing it in my palm, and with a jar of hot water. It still smells good, but it’s not sticky any more. My theory is that the absorbent cotton fabric soaked out the oil or rosin that made the hash sticky. It still melts when I put a torch on it. I’ll taste it tomorrow and see if it still hits (too high right now). Maybe there’s a volatile oil that evaporates and changes the consistency if it’s not sealed in?
A new controller for monitoring parameters, but this one has AI incorporated into it to make adjustments ahead of time and keep the perimeters in tighter check.
• Al Climate Control That Learns & Adapts
Last but not least was the opportunity to crowd fund an AI camera.
for $100 it does a whole bunch of things!
AI GrowCam is more than just a camera. It’s built around three core capabilities.
• Detect: Spot signs of pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, and plant stress.
• Understand: Track leaf temperature to gain deeper insight into plant health and environmental conditions, and uncover potential causes behind plant stress through AI-powered diagnosis.
• Record: Turn every grow into a visual story with time-lapse videos and Grow Journals.
A local farm that the restaurant I run gets produce from just offered to give me a bunch of organic soil…
Sooooo for the next run (@Antonio dutch passion Auto Lemon Kix & @SAWNEY-BEAN white Gen 3) I am going to do DWC in half of the 4 x 8 tent, and the other half will be organic soil.
I will do four of each plant.
Two Auto Lemon Kix in DWC & two in soil
Two WG3 in DWC & two in soil
I will also not be doing the 420autoflower method this time around. It’s been fun, but it’s also a LOT of work.
For this go around I’m going to use the bent coat hanger technique to apply some LST in the beginning, but other than that, I will let them grow naturally.
To say I’m excited is an understatement.
My projection is around the beginning of August. I will be harvesting the auto daiquiri lime, and the anvil F9.
So stay tuned for that, but I do believe I have everything ready to go for the next run now as well!
