The 2026 Outdoor Auto-Photo Competiton!

The Albacore get closer in sometimes just a few miles off shore and they are bigger! I don’t think my knees or arms would handle an Albacore run. But I bet if I was on the dock when they come back I could buy one!

Blueberry photo’s in the cup Grow Bro. But those are for a guerrilla grow

I am plotting for a Jean-o’s Genetics auto grow  on the patio. Those seeds will hit the water soon

from a few days ago, finally resolving pic upload issues…

**Hillside Garden update

Older plants**

They were planted out about 5-7 days ago
Since then, weather has been … start of the May rains
Temps in the 20s, from 20C up to 30C, night/ day
Usually cloudy, even foggy
A fair bit of rain, maybe like 50mm or so
Rains for like 25 mm over a day or two
then cloudy foggy misty windy
then a few days later it rains the same again

Not bad weather for transplants
But even after I planted them out, plant A was sitting in water …

Was wondering if their roots would be okay…
or if the bugs would eat them, or snails…

DNA Cannalope Haze fem A

Does this count as hydroponics?
Fifth node starting to come out now
Leaf shape is kind of hybrid I guess, not thin, not thick
But she’s little, and that shape will definitely change soon …
Color is good, better than when I planted her in fact
But those roots in that water… yikes!

(Edit: water drains super fast once heavy rain stops.)

ACE Orient Express fem B

No standing water for this young lady
Fifth to sixth nodes coming out now
Health and general color also look really nice
Thicker leaf, to be expected from the OrEx compared to the CanHz
But again, doesn’t mean much at this stage of life…

DNA Cannalope Haze fem C

I think this is also fifth node starting now
Thinner leaf, interesting
Really curious how hazey these CanHz will actually be?
Also no standing water
Leaves and signs of health all good

Result: very happy to see them like this
They all look healthy, good color, have grown a few more sets of leaves
Still very small, but I think the transplants have taken well

Rain and waterfall quite high, but it drains off okay
and they don’t seem bothered by it at all
Will still keep an eye on them for any feeding needs
But at this point, it’s not broken, so nothing to fix

Once the sun shows, they will really take off
Good chance I’ll top them since the grasses were mowed

Then the question will be:
Will they flower over summer, or not?

Love and hugs,
~~MJS

Little ones…

--------------------------------------- 1 Mystery seedling!* ------- Empty pot
2 Hz x Lime Madness rg ----- 1 Hz x Lime Madness rg — Empty pot

1 Hz x Lime Madness rg ---- 1 Orient Express ------------- 1 Orient Express (older, bitten)
1 Hz x Lime Madness rg ---- 1 Amnesia Hz auto ---------- 1 Malawi x NL auto
1 Cannalope Hz ---------------- 1 Cannalope Hz -------------- 2 Hz x Lime Madness rg

I think that’s the correct labelling
unless those marker are wrong in the first place … possible, except the Hz x Lime Madness
You can see how vigorous those Hz x Lime Madness are @harvestreaper !
F1 vigor compared to the rest mostly worked lines
And clearly NLD at this age

* Mystery seedling is from a tube filled with all sorts of random buds from the past year or two… Most likely have some NvHz in it somewhere, and some ThaiFrican, otherwise a mystery…

I love albacore fishing and remember a few El Niños where we caught 40-70lb albacore off the coast. I’ll catch one for you! Here’s last years tuna trip.

@Waira very excited about these strains this year.

I’m putting the Sour RNA CBD 28:1 in the ground and the skunk will go into the raised bed and 7 gal bag. Once I have them ready to transplant.

The Twenty20 Early Frost and Double Durban-V 1:1 are already in the raised bed and topping them already to try and keep them a little shorter. I did not see the Pinerose on their site… they are true to their description and pictures.

Here’s some updated photos from today. Not sure what happened to the skunk photos lol.

Nice looking bunch of plants!

@Waira i was thinking about the pinerose and Doja also had a strain in their test garden with a very similar description. I heard about it on a podcast FSOTD

Green-thumb small new 2 That’ll do! I see the CBD is your choice for in-ground which should mean the most yield… just curious, is there a lot of demand from your toker team for it?

Pine Rose is there in the new drops section, but also in the photo fem’s. I saw several lemony aroma types too, very tempting as is Strawberry Blonde, but I’ll have to wait on those

…who’s Doja?

Wow, no kidding? …like in your nosy landlord neighbor’s back yard? :joy: How about the usual spot, anything going there this year?..it’s a sweet spot, always does great!

Face Plant  - that’s a new girl, not seen that grown out yet so nice choice :+1:

yaaay! Glad you and Hobbes figured that out…

roflcrying– almost! …CHz I grew in '18…digging up pics…

I’d expect the typical Sati-dom hybrid features… but yeah, it’s early yet. Finger width is not much of a clue sometimes, the Doors x OHz plants looked totally Sati-dom hybrid too even though they were overwhelmingly % Haze genetics.

Looks like they are holding up well against the rain and soaked soil… I’m concerned about nutrient leaching though…

Too bad about the old bat-spot! I miss them :joy: … what happened on the second red alert?

Behind Doja Genetics (often associated with the brand Doja Pak) is a collective of legacy operators and breeders, with Ryan Bartholomew (commonly known as “Doja”) serving as the primary founder and face of the company.
While Ryan leads the brand’s vision and market presence, the genetic development side is a collaborative effort. Key figures and components of the team include:

Key Individuals

  • Ryan Bartholomew (Founder): Originally from Camden, New Jersey, Ryan transitioned from an underground sourcing operation in Sacramento to a globally recognized brand. He is credited with bridge-building between legacy growers and the regulated market.
  • Rusty (Duke of Erb): Ryan’s longtime partner and the lead breeder for the project. They have worked together since 2012, but officially ramped up their genetic development and seed production venture in 2020. Rusty is the primary hand behind their proprietary breeding programs and “pheno-hunts.”

Notable Strains & Successes

The group is best known for curating and commercializing some of the most influential “exotic” cultivars of the last few years, including:

  • Permanent Marker: Named Leafly’s 2023 Strain of the Year.
  • RS11 (Rainbow Sherbert #11**):** A collaboration that helped define the modern “Z” terpene profile.
  • Zoap: Another massive industry hit known for its unique soapy, fruity aroma.
  • Peach Tree: One of their prominent proprietary genetics developed in-house.

Current Operations

As of 2026, Doja Genetics has moved toward full vertical integration. They operate a specialized breeding and hunting facility in Nevada City, California, where they focus on “regular” seeds (rather than feminized) to preserve genetic stability. They have also recently expanded into the European medical markets (UK and Germany) through partnerships to provide authentic California genetics to international patients.
Note: It is worth distinguishing them from DOJA Cannabis, a Canadian brand that merged with Tokyo Smoke (Hiku Brands) years ago. When people discuss “Doja Genetics” in the context of high-end breeding and “hype” strains, they are almost always referring to Ryan Bartholomew’s California-based collective.

Going to run these over in a buddies two 4x4 raised beds. It’s going to be his first year and I’m going help him out with the process in his yard which has some great southern facing exposure.

Hillside Garden Update.

Day such and such…

Weather mostly cloudy rain every few days
Well watered but not in a bad way

A – Cannalope Haze fem

She’s been a bit chewed
Good color, slow but steady growth

B – Orient Express fem

The best looking one of the older three
Good color and growth
Less bitten than the Cannalopes

C – Cannalope Haze

The more NLD one
Nibbled, but less than CnHz A

D – Malawi x NL auto fem

Probably stunted already like the Amnesia auto below…
Small, but I think she’ll be okay
Better getting her roots into Gaia earlier rather than later

E – Amnesia Haze auto fem

Same as the Malaw x NL, small but otherwise okay

The other younger plants, like the younger CnHz and OE and all the Hz x Lime Madness still in their small pots
Need to move them out soon I think
They are all big enough to go into Gaia now
And they’ve been outside their whole lives after germination
Already properly hardened off
All the Hz x Lime Madness look very vigorous
Should be hybrid vigor, but hybrid of two sativa lines, not sat-indica hybrid

Some heavy rain about to hit over next few days
Water them in well, trial by water
Then lots of sun forecast for after that

Love and hugs

@Waira – yeah, who knows how they’ll turn out, nld or wld or whatever

nice looking cnhz in '18, good trich coverage, shape, and flower formation
do you know / remember what photoperiod they showed pistils?
or, like, the date and latitude? (i can figure the rest)

the soil is good, really, don’t worry about nutrient leaching
the grasses and stuff grow there very happily

the second red alert was back in march:
leo vehicle outside garden main gate after totally unrelated but nearby security camera went up
vehicle was in a position that strongly suggested they’d gone inside the area
had someone seen them and tipped them off? had the camera caught anything?
i’m not going to try my luck finding out if that’s the case or not
many prayers for safety, and two months later, no issues
safe, but … not going back there for a long time…
