This run is going to be all autos. Im not going to scrog but I plan on using the coat hanger stake to make them bushy. From that point Im winging it because the whole tent will be strains Ive never grown. Thinking I’ll just use clips to spread them out and just let them do their thing with some light defol.
Don’t get intimidated, I spent my first year growing autos doing all different strains every grow, just to learn the whole autoflower thing and not get locked into anything. I feed almost half the amount of nutrients I did with photos, and haven’t had but one issue one time getting lockout from using calmag with my tap water. Since then I feed a full spectrum but at about 20-25%manufacturers recommended amounts. I have yet to find an auto that’s difficult to grow. I do have about a decade and a half experience with photos, but autos are my world now.
Nah no worries over here. My soil runs I super charge the soil with gaia green ferts and amendments. Topdressings are at full strength plus amendments. My rockwool grows start at 2.0ec and second res mix jumps to 2.4-2.6 for the rest of the grow. DLI and VPD are dialed. Basically I push my autos as hard as I can. I started with autos and I stunted my first grow. After that I put in a ton of time learning everything autoflower and havent had any more issues.
Last run I had a glueberry og photo in soil. I 420scrogged it but I waited a few days too long on the net and I forgot to turn the lights up after the super crop so she only got 29 dli the whole flower cycle. She wasnt a great harvest but it was my fault. She was also my first photo grow so still a win since I got her to harvest. I didnt like having photos and autos going at the same time in the room. I’ll be sticking to either autos or photo only runs from now on.
Yeah with autos I just bend em over and spread the branches and hold em in place with garden staples
Gorilla cookies day 66 above ground. More of the same with her. I tried to use a second net to spread her out some but since she is basically wall to wall it didnt work. Raised the light so I could turn it up to max hopefully improving light pen and edge coverage and added the panels underneath.
Seeds don’t last forever, and after about 5yrs, in my experience, germ rates start to drop drastically as the shells getting harder. Don’t get me wrong, Ive germed 20yr old seeds, but the germ rates were terrible
.
Edit: Also genetics tend to be less aggressive/vigorous at that age as well, good for breeding, but that first old generation moves slow from old age haha.
No worries there. My plan with the library is producing seeds, micro pheno hunts, breeding my own crosses etc. Im going all in on growing and all things cannabis.
wow what a thread anyhow just wanted to say hello
Is that the Fast Buds Gorilla Cookies!? I loved growing that strain! I really wanna try the Strawberry Gorilla, and even more the Strawberry Gorilla RF3. It’s supposed to be more stable and a better yielder
Hello friend. Thanks for the compliment and stopping by.
It is from fast buds. I have the strawberry gorilla and ztrawberriez seeds in the fridge. I’m going to grab that rf3 at some point
Damn dude holy shit that’s a monster. Wha!
Okay we are finally getting somewhere. Ive been kinda lazy since harvest. The reservoirs still had solution in them and the tents were a mess. Got things cleaned up and the 5x5 real close to being ready. Think I’ll get seeds into water tomorrow. That will give me enough time to finalize things and give the tent 24hrs or more to “dry run” for testing parameters. Once I get some stuff from the grow store tomorrow it will be ready to test.
I thought why waste all that space and light with only 6 pots.
Part of that being lazy thing is that I still haven’t trimmed anything. So I was checking rh% of everything and this bucket has been 65 2 days in a row. Burped it down yesterday and it was back up again today. I wanted to mix it up and this is what I got when I dumped it out. After a couple minutes I just picked it up and put it back in the bucket. The bottom is now the top.
I also haven’t pressed the glueberry yet. I’m waiting on some bags and a pre mold from press club. They should be here Friday so this weekend hopefully. I’m excited for it. The smells coming from the bag when opened are amazing.
Bubble is in the future but not ready yet.
An Audible laugh out loud was had for
“ the bottom is now the top”
Good stuff brother. All around just SOLID.
Keep on keeping on. ![]()
Got this done late last night. Really got in there and cleaned things up around net level. Managed to only cut the net once and only took 2 branches I didn’t really want to take. Lol. It’s tough to see what you’re doing in there. Sometimes you’re just guessing.
Got a rough trim done on big momma. Seperated the top dense buds from the larf. The top buds got all the big stems trimmed out and some leaves but not a final trim. The larf got about 50% of the stems and no leaves trimmed.
558.6 grams of decent flower.(counting the little bag as 28g didnt tare the bag)
423.4 grams of larf. Call it 375g since there are stems in there.
33 oz of dry flower.
Had a little delay with getting the blumat system going. I’m now running a gravity system instead of pressurized.
Got the main plumbing ran. Calibrated the caps and watered the pots last night. Pots should be close to field capacity tonight when the carrots and drip rings get installed. I went with a manifold setup and added a chimney for air to escape. That’s the tube running up the back tent pole. Also added a purge valve.
My spider farmer controller isn’t smart enough to run the 9/3 schedule so 18/6 it is. Got all the parameters set and fired the tent up. Soil was only 66f when I first placed the probe which was a little shocking. This morning it was up to 73f.
I’ve also had to reconsider my strain selection due to adding 3 more pots. Switched to shorter bushier strains so I can get in the tent for maintenance.
