@Antonio Day 30 and 25ish moved PMK and Six x STC in the 4x4 and left on 18/6 since the autos finished up. Gonna do little training defoliation on them this week. Gave SxS her first top dress on day 19-20. Their drinking about half a Rez every 2 days or so probably flip them in a weekish
@Jean-O started the new babies tonight will this thread work for them or do you want a separate journal for them? Doesn’t matter to me either way I’ll tag when I update them
Sweet thanks man yeah she is. I just went to check on her. I filled her Rez yesterday so I didn’t think she’d need water but she drank a gallon dry in 24 hrs already
The Dead Head OG I used for the mother in the cross was a beast, so was the Where’s My Dog. She’s definitely got her running shoes on for this run for ya.
I was wrong. They are still using Samsung diodes. They are having to resort to using a blend of L301b and L301H/Evo. They have a few of the machines that make the boards that they bought directly from Samsung. So they will have the Samsung diodes for longer than other companies. I was just talking to someone from HLG last week.
Grim Reaper is stretching out nice gonna give her a defoliation in a few days around week 2 of flower she’s at day 11 of flower now drinking her Rez dry daily
SIX x STC day 30ish gave her a defoliation and start some LST on her she was pretty thick. She almost drinks a Rez a day not quite though gonna give her a few more days in veg then I flip/move her to flower
Plants look awesome!!! Damn you say they are already drinking a res a day? Does that mean you will be watering multiple times daily during flower or how does that work in earth boxes??? The plants look great, have you run into any issues with the roots outgrowing the pots before they finish,?
Thanks yeah they could probably use a second filling at some point. If I can but it’s not a big deal if I don’t. The soil still has plenty of water in it for the day they just dry back more. In the Jr’s yeah prop the roots can get a little out of hand by the end. But being the earth boxes you can really pile on the ferts and compost and fill the Rez more to keep up with it. Regs are probably better but these do the trick for most plants
At this stage, he means in 24 hours it empties the reservoir.
They do need a dry back period. With regular Earthboxes or juniors, you want to check the weight of the box just as the rez is empty. Depending on what part of cycle the plant is on, 8 to 12 hours later the reservoir needs to be filled. You’ll be able to tell very easily if you need to fill the reservoir by lifting one end.
Just keep in mind the technique in flower that I used on the outdoor girl I grew in a earth box.
All my flower specific nutrients are applied in liquid form. I strive to keep any nutrients out of the reservoir to avoid the associated problems with microbe blooms in your reservoir. So I add my liquid nutrients to my compost and make a slurry and then apply that on top. I apply my worm castings first then the compost slurry. It seemed to me to be too mucky when added the worm castings at the same time. I usually sprinkle a bit of Bokashi afterwards to fire it up.
I’m gonna add a little bit on this next run to my top dressings. It’s a little something that I’ve tried with my worm bin. I’m gonna add some cooked rice to my top dressings. It’s purpose is to fire up the microbes. The rice water from soaking will be used in wetting everything down. It’s not gonna be a whole lot, I’m thinking about a 16th of the total top dressing to start with and maybe go up from there.
Yep, kind of like that. That rice water will have Rootwise Inoculate in it.
I’m gonna spread it out evenly and keep it at a small percentage rate to keep from heat building up. You still have the same amount of biological activity, but it spread out over a larger area. If I just buried it in one place, it would get too hot in that one place from it being concentrated in a small area.
The test run in worm bin was quite interesting. I dugout little hole in the center of the bin.I took a cup of rice and squished it down to about a third of an inch thick to fit the hole and just covered it up. It was about an inch down in the media.
3 days later, I open up the bin and I have a magnificent bloom. I purposely left off my cardboard that I normally place on top. I want the bloom without the worms eating it.
Even though there was other food in the bin, this spot was the center of attention.
I was going to try this when I top dress, instead putting Bokashi on top.
I think it’ll be interesting how it turns out.
