NIGHTQUEEN's Dutch Passion Grow Adventures

Thx bro. Appreciate the kind words. Still next 2 plants (smc 4 &2 clones) will be just a short clone->1week veg-> flower run with smaller, still moveable plants. I really want to train myself in getting the shots better and the exact way I want (in other words, eliminating the flaws, even those nobody ever will notice). With my Audhd, i really need an envirionment without distraction and the stuffed tiny tent is just annoying to do this focussed enough. i would reschedule the task hour after hour again until a) panic mode starts or b) not start at all, if there’s no reason for a panic mode.

Below is from the SMC dust in the trim bin. (Don’t worry : That single doghair didn’t made it into the final ball. I just had no banana, so the hair is for scale instead, lol, I know , poor excuse but a halfway creative one)

The little fella, yeah. Shit happens and nature is cruel. Nothing we could have done about it. Yet i think having taken 3 years of time to care for the little one was more than worth it. Such a unique friendship.

The best part of trim jail is the trim bin dry sift. I still have like 3 grams of Lemon Z sift from last year. I need to smoke it lol.

I get annoyed when I have to water the plants in the rear of my tent. I couldn’t imagine trying to get a decent photo in that jungle.

You really did a good job .

You and @Dab are killing it. It gives me something to shoot for.

Antonio = tony from dutch pash yea ?.. the tony that was on the original autoflower.net… and knew muddy ? I am from dp, an original white balled show grower selected by henk van dalen, one of only 7 DP show growers, selected by henk, in 10yrs before he retired to spain and later dp sold to a french women, name if Pauline?.. what is your job at do Antony? Cool if we provide something, you can shoot for. Just go for it. To me even the most crappy picture is better than no documentation at all. And whenever you need help with getting better images than, we are here to help.

With plants in the back watering and maintainance gets annoying and painful, and so does taking decent pictures from areas , that are literally out of reach. One of my wild garden poppies opened the day before yesterday, most hidden and pest/tick infected spot possible…

Thanks for your input. Interesting historic story, may I asked for a more in detail job discription / the goal of the project/show grows back in the days ?

Okay, here we go, round 2.

This time I have just 1 little SMC #4 going straight into flower at 8am. She’s tiny, but all I aim for a beautiful tiny plant to work with in this photography project. The chosen clone has beautiful branching already . There’s a backup SMC #4 waiting in case of shit hits the fan.

After going through the first smoke and dryed bud testings, pheno4 just ticked most boxes of the 3 , best top to bottom quality (yet the smallest nuggets, no popcorn at all), most resin, best overall yield , smoothest smoke expirience.

Back to the next grow:

Also in the room (no tent this time for photography reasons) an old, once abandoned lady,a mystical survivor of selection, today exactly 5 month old, please welcome back to the show: Pheno 3.

Totally forgotten her myself, wife took “care” of her plant. The lady just outgrew her space , and I need that room for my project - so she has to go outdoors or to flower. My wife joked, it’s her Rhododendron, lol but my mom would buy that’s a 5finger-rhodo. It’s that big… she (plant, not my wife) got a good defoliation past 3 days and ultra branch bending to free up the middle, the lower and mid canopy room had a cleanup and overall she’s ready to start flowering in there too. The growth is explosive and i would have taken out even more but - not my plant

So we have tiny SMC vs monster SMC.

The man who started the business (Dutch Passion Seed Company Amsterdam)Henk van Dalen, in 1985… is the man that alone, discovered as an horticultural bio scientists. The method of “Feminization” of cannabis. That is to say that 98% if germinated will be female… hence the word feminized = not female 100%… the plant he used to do this, he strain hunted himself from east Africa… a taller form of durbon poison… that wild true bred 100% “Stativa” was, the inimitable legendary (FEM) = Henks 100% Pure Sativa = Power Plant"… this man selected only 7 show growers over a period from 1990 to 2014 when he retired, i was the last of 7, to get whiteballed into the DP show grow team… full sponsorship… the goal of the show grows was to prove no intersex genes where in the variety’s chosen as DPs strains in the Dutch Passion seed bank gene pools… and to show high yields with no nutrient deficiency’s in the gene pool either… to prove safe and easy to grow with good yields… i taught a top grower on here, he is ex Henk Van Dalen… “TeeTee”… and night queen is favorite DP bean… when a new strain was introduced into the seed bank… we would show grow it first… prove it quality performance… before strain release for sale in Maastricht… the DP “Davinci” vape was the first of its kind also… theres only one genuine top gene line bean company… thats the people that created the canna fem grow world… and pioneered automatics right back to the first ruderalis, “Lowrider”… thats,

Thank you for this history summary. Really cool you took time to keep old times somewhat alive by sharing this kind of brand/canna history related stories first hand.

And since you asked in teetee’s thread about the new forum and if there’s no learning etc… It’s just another system, still ,the learning component -even in the old forum- often was there , but hidden in between chats. Now it’s not hidden on page 122 of 250 total (or whatever number) of post xy but instead hidden within a long post with each post numbered. And then , if ai would work correctly you could generate a full post summary. So it’s different and some people might got lost during transition or don’t like to adapt, but we have to give new things or this change a chance before complaining or disliking it. The most important, the community is great and always there to help.

No I’m not, Tony is still working at the company as well, he is not active on the forums anymore but he is still our best writer, so making a lot of blogs, articles etc. and providing us with new insights about the industry as well. Really friendly bloke, one of my favorite colleagues for sure!

And btw, Henk did semi-retire (and is living in Spain), but DP was never sold to anyone. Currently his children are still active in the company and bound to take over. We have a Pauline working here and she is our community manager of South Europe (France/Italy etc.)|

Just to set the record straight  I’m Antonio, and currently one of the breeders of DP and take care of many other things as well!

Storm last week hit us pretty hard ,including garage roof raining through, letting the grow room on the same electricity line without power. I’m not messing with electricity at all myself, which means someone has to do it for me. Annoying stressful… All other outdoor garden blooming flowers lost their beauty, pots fall over, just that stupid cheap china tent - it’s still on it’s place, not becoming a kite as i expected. Anyway, yesterday was another tiny harvest day - 2 red strawberries on the fruitplant, shared one with my wife, the other one obviously the dog got, due to Berry tax, which is additional to cheesetax…

The small smc lady had to be moved to the tent to keep the project going within controlled envirionment. Pics coming soon. Still totally overwhelmed with the mess outside and in the flooded garage.

This is a tiny fraction of Pheno 3 of the SMC. She started 165 days ago, has been through a ton of stress moments . She’s a little too big for the room but at least I can turn her around to work on her.

The pheno 4 does well, lovely flower to leaf ratio. She had shown some weirdo "can’t decide to veg or bloom"growth on few leaves - which definetly goes back to the messed up timers and no electricity. Doesn’t matter she could have vegged 3-4 more days, since meanwhile some nice first flowering signs showed up and she’s stretching like mad.

Found this sticker becoming loose on one of the old pots that I keep using in memory of my friend who teached me growing early 2000 before passing away too early…nostalgia…

I have the Vivosun and it ran for 1 1/2 years, and I’m about to start using it again. So far so good!

I think I got it for $59.00 U.S.

Pheno 3 , well a little part of her at least. Took out a ton of suckers again and plant liked it . Still lot of unnecessary overlapping. She’s thirsty. She’s greedy. She’s giving a damn f*** and don’t grow in favor of my back and knees.

Pheno4 in the tent stretched a lot. You know that feeling, when you go one path and wished to have chosen the other one? I should have… bit no, leave that damn plant do her thing alone. I have to remind me : No scrog, no experiments…or just “don’t fuck it up”.

Waited for the mail delivery now, as it was rescheduled saturday for today.

5 minutes later…while I wrote the last sentence , the dog started alarming and I don’t expect mail delivery yet - well, door bell ringing usually means something evil is coming -i’m not talking about a swat team or autjorithies. That’s lesser evil. I talk true evil. Fibre optics contractor guys, the annoying religious cult guys, asking for donations, that neighbour, who kindly want to share that leftover blue cheese ,expired 17th april 2025 but too good for the bin. Or just the arch enemy passing the other side of the road (a westhighland terrier my dog hates). But the dog just announced the mail woman, a different driver this time, so I got my mail early.

Once again these china company’s are doing great in revealing growers… no packaging, just an adress sticker on the item’s box. It’s legal but still - sensitive topic. Anyway, unboxed the vivosun under canopy light, tested functionality. Quality seems okay. Here we go, a test on Pheno 3 will show in a few weeks, if the light is worth the money, but so far, damn nice unit for the price. Expected a lot cheaper build.

That’s it for today folks. Update soon.

Another round in full swing mate, hope you’ll dig the new lights! And the ladies will do too  :green_heart:

The run is doing great and time is flying fast.the big plant, she loves that light. Huge difference. In just a few weeks the real fun will show again. The photo-worthy and interesting part to document visually just started few days ago, so the wait isn’t that long and boring.

Regarding digging the light, i do! i had the choice driving via overpriced and unreliable train to Berlin to grab a goodie bag or buying two lights to activly support the plants now and futurewise. Not that I would have rejected a DP Bag, but I don’t regret my decision and probably saved money on top while getting a better product in the long run. Opportunitiy cost….

Easy decision right, and the best one too for sure! :ok_hand:

It’s PISSING ME RIGHT OFF how Vivosun can offer such cheap prices compared to the grow shops, then send it with no discretion whatsoever… I live in a small town way out, and the posties and delivery drivers ALL know what I am up to grrrrrrrr.

I got onto Vivosun about it numerous times and they just don’t give a fuck. They think having their branding and product description scarawled all over their boxes is for OUR protection as they say that delivery companies will take more care of the package if they know whats in it! The actual words they used was “our standard shipments are typically packed in original branded cartons to ensure product identification and logistics handling efficiency” FFS what a load of bollocks.
