You might want to consider an antifungal wash on the bud you harvest. Something like dr zymes, flower shower or home made h2o/h2o2/sodium bicarbonate/lemon juice. I have used all of the above on all my outdoor harvests for the past 10years. I would do the same for any indoor flower that needs cleaning.

Frenchy Canolli said that washing bud in ice water to make hash gets mold spores out. I guess because they’re a lot smaller than the trichomes, so they go out with the waste water.

That might be true. The wash I do is strictly to clean flower at room temp.

I’Ve never done washing on the buds. It ever felt “wrong” or counterintuitive to me , maybe because I never fully understood it plus the extra work, therefore I rejected trying it. In a larger scale operation with commercial or medical interest that washing might make sense to me (from the greed perspective it’s an absolute no brainer to make shit to gold) - but for my 1 1/2 half bud here in the above picture and the tiny given legal limits we have here , not worth it at this point. Still, you made me curious in giving it a try on one fucked up plant one day in the future - but after doing proper deep research on it. Don’t want to fuck up the already fucked up…

I’ve been washing flower for years this way in all three methods I mentioned. Especially outdoor grown it’s amazing how much dirt and insects are on your plants even when practicing organic gardening.

Had luck with the weather - weekend stayed mostly dry and cold. That left the tent in a nice 22-25c/45-50% rh.
Kush and the SMC both get a little more space now because SBR left the tent and entered the dry area… pics to come later.
Highlight of today still was the cheeseburger with tomatos and cucumbers from the garden. Nothing beats selfgrown, …

Found a ton of field-horsetail aka "Equisetum arvense" between flowers and plants outdoor. If you never heard of that plant, it’s one of those nobody likes having and hard to get rid off in gardens. Yet it’s actually quite useful as it contains silica and a ton of other stuff, making it perfect to reuse in the garden, while saving money. And you can use it to sharpen knifes. Yes, the stem has some microscopic rough sandpaperlike texture. Kinda cool side effect, just in case you trimming blade lost it’s sharpness. The real deal though is collecting the stuff and brew it. I put it in a bucket, add water and let it sit 10-14 days in a dark place. 150-200g dryed plant material per 10l water should do fine. Use the finished product further deluted , 1 part with 10 parts water. I thought , i should share this recipe, as some here might find it useful and it saves money as this stuff is freely available in nature - silica in bottles or buckets simply isn’t. Enjoy trying it yourself!

Day 53 for SMC and the Kush lady - so fun to see how different they are on multiple levels…
both need at least another week to 10 days. Lows are turning out better than ever - thanks to the undercanopy light. SBR - she’s chopped 2/3 BUT lower third still alive for another week or 2. Thought about it while chopping and since I can’t start new project before August, lets fatten up those late lower buds also the same quality as the tops. She - or better said the leftover shadow of her former self - is living next to Pheno3 now.
Lows on wife’s big SMC in the other room though could be bigger buds - at least they are not airy but mostly dense small nuggets. The tops and mids though, beautiful and biggest from all 4 SMC seeds dropped. Love the sweet terps on Pheno3. They developed so nicely, and for my taste , that’s topping Pheno 4’s terp profile in some area… by today she’s 205 days alive, no bug issues, no pest, just stress,heat and not enough love in the beginning 150 days and a out of range PH once or twice. Something tells me to keep her…yet there’s no clone taken due to up-used plant count.
The big question to the community: should we try revegging her (pheno3) after harvest and make her a 365 day life with a second veg and bloom possible? Taking clones on the go during veg to make seeds? What’s your thoughts on that?

Will be offline next 3 days for the most for a festival , very nice one (it’s a music festival). Will place the branded papers DP included in my last package in the backstagetent. And since I’ve lots of free seeds on promo cards, that I can’t grow all, the one or other grower I will meet might get a free seed surprize. Luckily it’s 5mins from my home, so plants won’t suffer from nobody caring.

I’m on my third big dehumidifier from Home Depot. I use the optional drain hose setup so it never fills up with water and shuts itself down. Make sure it has a “continuous” option so you can control it with an InkBird humidity controller and hang the RH sensor wherever you want it. My first dehumidifier defaulted to factory settings every time it was unplugged, so I returned that one. The Inkbird controller turns the unit off by cutting off the power to the dehumidifier when the RH gets to where you set it, so the dehumidifier needs to remember it’s set to “continuous” when the controller turns on the power again. Dehumidifiers put out quite a bit of waste heat, which was a problem last Summer even with a portable AC in the grow. This season I added a Vivosun Aerolush C08 AC which sits outside the grow and pumps the heat outside very efficiently. Even on sale it was pricey, but it was worth it.
